aliboy
true but its not like the massive earthquake did nothing. Plus couldn't we be affected by a tsunami too? Not as big as Japans though
Hedgehog Hodgson
Well.. Looks like we can all start using the "The world's going to end" pickup lines again.
aliboy
I've been hearing about the big one hitting anytime now for the past 30+ years. Could hit tomorrow, could hit in 100 years. Not going to worry about it and let if affect my daily life.
Satan's Evil Twin
Around the world, there are a number of volcanoes that have just started rumbling, like someone threw a switch. Alaska, the Mediterranean, Columbia, all at the same time. Two in the Med, one in Greece (the one that took out Atlantis) and one in Italy. aliboy
Scorpio, I'm not talking about if activity is trending up or down over time. I'm just saying that there have been a number of volcanoes that have just started rumbling all over the world, like someone hit a switch. http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/eruptions
Grapefruits
No, this is yesterdays news, the new data is extremely reliable, there is no longer any issue of 100 years from now. We now KNOW that the big one will hit soon.

Don't.Mess.With.Kes<3
Listen man, I understand that you are not interested in fact, but if you watch this program, you will be dealing with fact. Mud core samples do not lie, they simply tell us what has occured, again and again, about every 300 years, and what they tell us is that sets of massive earthquakes occur over, and over again, and we are now right in the middle of the current set. There WILL be either 1 or 2 more and the west coast is next in line. Watch the program, the mud core data is highly reliable. http://watch.discove...e-we-there-yet/</p>
xWCMx
... Sounds to me like this guy is more worried about the epicenter being closer to Sam Francisco and California, rather than BC.

KamikazeWatermelon
They don't normally preduct a date, but we know that the big one for the west coast WILL happen anytime between now and the next 3 years or so, it's no longer a maybe. Here is the latest science, http://watch.discove...e-we-there-yet/
aliboy
the west coast isn't only vancouver though. Not saying we won't be affected, but I've heard its likelier to hit California
aliboy
I believe the time frame isn't from now until the next 3 years, rather from now to the next century or so. I don't remember where I heard that from though... But no need to panic... yet.
Canucksbiggestfan
Did you guys do your research on this video? This video is from last year, search Earthquake prediction 2011 Jim Berkland and it is the exact same video. Some idiot is just trying to fool everyone and a lot of you guys fell for it. Don't.Mess.With.Kes<3
Yes, but in that same program they state that the Cascadia fault and the San Adreas fault, are all one big fault, not two. And, they say that out of the last 15 monster quakes, they can't see the difference between the two faults, so it's like they went together. I'm thinking that whether we have 1 more or 2 more huge quakes will depend on if they go together or seperately. So, we could see one giant quake that runs from off the coast of vancouver island right down to LA, and it could be 9.2 to 9.4, so we are talking end of the world for a lot of people, and could be looking at 200-300 ft. tsumanis in places. Now, your right, Vancouver is slight sheltered from this because the fault isn't right under us, I figure it about 100 miles away, so that will help.
