elvis15
You all should try checking out the /topic/316017-injuries-ice-chips-thread-2011-2012-season/page__view__findpost__p__10517475">Injuries & Ice Chips thread pinned at the top of Canucks Talk. People post updates on player's injuries there all the time. I posted an update from Pinizzotto himself, and the full Canucks Report earlier. People posting there makes it easy to get injury updates all in one place.

Ilya Mikheyev
On the topic of injured players, does anyone know how Pinizzotto is doing? Any word on him? Any chance he might be able to play in the play-offs? Damn he would be so useful for that. Imagine a 4th line of Kassian, Bitz and Pinizzotto? 1canuck67
Yeah, a 4th line without a center, a lot of good that will do. Good to hear Patti skating, he might not play in the playoffs, but he's proven to be a hard worker (this is just more proof) and that he can keep up with the pace of a NHL game. The more healthy bodies the better come playoffs.

d.joh91
with Lappy, Weise, Bitz, Volpatti, Kassian, and Juice on our roster, I can almost guarantee that we will not be pushed around down the playoff stretch!
DownUndaCanuck
Are you guys serious? He was a great fighter and hard hitter, but brought no offence to the table. Guys like Bitz and Weise have at least contributed offensively, which is what you need in the playoffs. Last season we had pylons like Glass who did zilch in the cup finals and we needed an upgrade on these sorts of players - sadly Volpatti is not an upgrade on Glass. For me, right now I consider this to be our depth chart for 4th line wingers: Kassian > Bitz > Weise > Ebbett > Volpatti

SixOhFourCanucks
I'd much rather have Bitz on teh fourth with Kassian and Malhotra. I wouldn't really move malhotra from the fourth.
Edler's Mind Tricks
OMG Kassian is best, he can pass and will hit in the playoffs!!! OMG Weise is the best!! He can skate, hit, defend and chip in! OMG Bitz is the best!! He is huge, can skate, chip in, hit, and will fight!! OMG Volpatti is the Best!!! He will drop the lives with anyone and hits a ton!!! OMG Pinizotto is the best!!! He was awesome in the preseason!!! OMG Duco is the best! He is our Marchand-Lite! OMG Ebbet is the best! Best points per minute of any Canuck!! Fills Hodgson's offense perfectly!! OMG Reinprecht is the best!! Proven at the NHL level and can do many things well! OMG Schroeder is the best! So much potential and is defensively sound! Do none of you understand how role players work? They all fill specialized roles. Everyone else on the Canucks is essential or does everything well. Teams with little depth play the same role players the whole season, even when their role is unnecessary. We have players that can play any role. We have defensive specialists (such as Malhotra) offensive specialists (Ebbet), fighters (Volpatti), an all around player (Reinprecht), an agitating specialist (Duco) and couple of tough guys (different from a fighter). We will play them when their specific role is needed or when we have an injury to a similar player. Debating on the general merits of each of them is completely and utterly pointless! Xbox
I liked Volpatti. Glad he is getting better but some people have the worst luck
CookieCrumbs
I loved Volpatti on our 4th line. Hope he's at least available come Playoffs. He's pure Canadian grit.
Niloc009
Volpatti isn't this team's saviour, the answer or perfect fit on the fourth. Won't make the lineup unless there's multiple injuries. And even then, Kassian, Weise, Bitz, Reinprecht, and Ebbett are all ahead of him on the depth chart. But hey, depth is depth.
{nhl}
Unfortunately for Volpatti, I don't see him having a roster spot on a fully healthy roster. Sedin Sedin Burrows Booth Kes Higgs Raymond Pahlsson Hansen Malhotra Lapierre Kassian Unless Kassian doesn't perform, the only other option I see is Malhotra however, I am aware of the character role Malhotra plays and don't seeing him get scratched for some size. FrenchKiss
Bitz > all, and he has a good vision with noze for the net. This is the guy i want to be back, on a 4th with lapierre and malhotra. Kassian is a weight, weise not that bad but has limited skills.
DownUndaCanuck
I sometimes wonder if you actually watch the games. On a good day you just garner up the general consensus and regurgitate it. Like the poster below says, he was given a role to fulfil and in that role he was outstanding. I recall him getting free on a number of occasions in front of the net and being ignored. One of the few times he looked good offensively was when he was on with Henrik.... Leading to his goal. He was one of the few players who got Rogers buzzing early season and if fully fit he will be great to have back. He did make mistakes, ironically, looking back they were norhing to some many of our more seasoned players have made since. In my eyes his biggest mistake and a testament to his guts, courage and desire to play for this team was the number of games (7 I think) he continued to hit and even fight with the injury before he admitted defeat.
