Amish Rake Fighter
Hello people ........ Torts got fined for saying that the league gives special treatment to the Pens, not for dissin Sid and EM. I swear, surfin this site is soooo tiring. Having to explain things time and time again.
Raiun
It speaks volumes about the integrity of the league that they will levy fines against anyone who questions that integrity.
NikiShiz
Wow thats a bit steep? Can't believe they gave him that crazy of a fine for speaking his mind! He didn't even say anything that bad...ughhh NHL...
Real deal - Stan Smyl
You know what's really tiring ? Your pretentious horsesheit. Get over yourself
Ṣpiderman
There have been tons of cases just this season where players or coaches have trash talked and didn't recieve any fine or disciplinary reaction. Just a few examples off the top of my head: Miller calling Lucic a piece of s***, the war of words between the Canucks and the Bruins, or Bolland calling the Sedins "sisters", or AV insulting Bolland's IQ. Mark Recchi called us whiney. He also called us arrogant, just like Torts. He didn't get a fine. Trash talk is part of hockey. I have to think that this fine is all about reputation. Tortorella (a coach known for trash talk and making similar comments to the media) insults Sidney Crosby (the NHL's golden boy). Combine the two together and you get a $20,000 fine. Real deal - Stan Smyl
Those comments you listed don't challenge the league's integrity to the game. What Torts is indirectly implying is that the league is corrupted. Of course he's going to get fined.

Real deal - Stan Smyl
Nice trip to the old thesaurus, you twattler. Respect your elders (not Edlers), there whippersnapper. I remember Bobby Orr in his prime.

RUPERTKBD
Torts should look in the mirror before he calls anyone else a "whiner". He's been whining about officials (and the league in general) his entire coaching career,

davinci
I totally agree with Torts comments. Orpik targeted one of NY's best players. If that would to happen to Crosby or Malkin some serious suspensions would follow. Penguins get away with everything and then the whine about everything that doesn't get called. Good on Torts
