Caboose
How is this, in any way, news. Of course he doesn't like how we play, some of our best players have the science of diving down pat, sometimes I don't like how we play.
The Brahma Bull
Wasnt Burkie the consultant Murphy talked to get imput for the suspension on Rome after game 3?
etsen3
I don't care what his opinion is. However I do care that Mike Murphy asked him for advice. Sounds a whole lot more suspicious now.

Caboose
Did you happen to see some of Boston's epic dives and embellishments last year in the playoffs? Not only against the Canucks, but all the way through. The press has now become a tool for teams to take small threads of truth and blow them out of proportion in hopes of getting an advantage. I am thankful right now that the Eastern press is working their magic on the Pens right now. A lot of teams are very afraid of the Pens and it is showing in the obvious media campaigns. Sadly, it seems to work.
coyotecanuck
I am aware that Boston dives just as much as us, but come on, do you watch Kesler play?
Caboose
The Canucks take a few dives here and there. But if the Bruins dive"just as much as us" then, getting back to your point about why Burke was cheering for the Bs, I suppose the diving wouldn't have anything to do with it? There has to be some other reason, like, for example, getting totally snubbed by the Canucks since his departure.
thad
I care. Particularly when you find out that a guy was actively cheering against/negative towards a team (a team that let him go previously) yet he is asked to advise on a suspension for a player to that team. A suspension that ended up being the largest in history for the finals against a player with no history on a play that was not deemed dirty just a point of a second late. That is pretty disturbing actually and now on tape. I'm always amazed at the number of white knights riding to the defence of the critics... coyotecanuck
Let's just say, for example, that you are on trial for a crime you didn't commit. How are you going to feel when you roll into court and find out your ex-wife is the jury captain?
Toews
Irrelevant. He is an ex gm that was let go/not re-upped by the team affected He is the gm of a rival franchise He was apparently actively cheering for the other team affected by the incident. SukhKular
I was basing my comments off of the video, i.e. his personal views/beliefs, nothing hockey related. PS: Your knowledge of cars & hockey is astounding and your jealousy is showing.
La Mauviette75
lol come on, it's the 2012 playoffs, not the 2011 playoffs. let's move on. no one cares about brian burke. he's a relatively unsuccessful GM for a team with no hope. it's within his rights to root for a team over another, no matter how stupid his reasoning is. Red Light Racicot
Who cares if he didn't like how the Canucks played? After watching the whole video, not just nit-picking at a certain part so I can make a thread about it, I have gained respect for Burke. His ideals are bang on and is a well-spoken, high character individual.
