shiznak
Actually, I'd probably keep the pick considering the next 5 teams have little to offer (in terms of defensive help).
Vlas=d
how is it rigged? a canadian team won the first pick and a failing american team lost it.. yea its definitely rigged.

Easton76
They will trade this pick. If they draft Yakupov they are not making the playoffs next year. They have a crappy defence in front of a really good goalie. They should trade the pick and get Andrew Murray, or even Matt Dumba.

Ilya Mikheyev
Interesting. This is a rare situation where it might actually make sense for the team with the 1st overall pick to make a trade. Imagine how good the Oil's top-6 could be though. Hall - Hopkins - Eberle Paajarvi - Gagner - Yakupov Hemsky + Omark, Hartikainan Or maybe even a different 2nd line center if they can sign/trade for one. They need to improve on the defense though. Dubnyk is probably even better than he showed last year, imagine if he actually had some good defensemen in front of him? I wonder if Tambo will draft Yakupov and trade a different package for a defenseman. Or maybe he'll end up with Justin Schultz for free.... Interesting anyway. Flying Man
WOW IMAGINE THEIR LINEUP IN 5 YEARS. On the other hand, I wonder if they'll be able to keep all the young guns?
Haikara
Poor Columbus, forever screwed. Does the draft lottery chances take into account a team winning previously? It's ridiculous that Edmonton gets 3 1st overalls in a row.

Canucksbiggestfan
They can just trade Hemsky for a defenseman and still draft Yakupov.
Ilya Mikheyev
Tambo should offer his left nut for Ryan Suter & Justin Schultz. Who knows, maybe Ol'Gary has good things to say about Alberta?? Maybe Ryan spent some time in CGY as a youngling? Could you imagine?? Hall - Hopkins - Eberle Hemsky - Gagner - Yakupov Smyth - Horcoff - Jones Eager - Belanger - ______ Suter - Whitney Schultz - Schultz Smid - Potter Sutton Dubnyk Khabi Would be a contender on paper. Tenacious
Yup, by the time the Oilers "develop", all their players will be done with their rookie contracts... who knows what happens after that.
