Luongo For Lacavlier.. And Keeping Schneider

Recommended Posts

We all know that Luongo has the NTC.. however Im sure he would take a trade back to the state of Florida to be back with his wifes family. If the only logical option would be Lacavlier, since they both have similar contract styles... thus freeing up the Nucks to sign and keep Schneider, would that be an option? In Lacavlier you are getting a overpayed player on the downside of his career, not unlike Luongo. At the same time we would add a offensive larger player who has the cup ring and tenacity to be a playoff performer. We would also then be adding Schneider at the same time rather than giving him up for what in the end will likely be underpriced....

Don't get me wrong, I wouldnt be looking at him as a saviour... he would have an obvious diminished role on this team. A 7.7 millon dollar over payed player to play on the PP and on the second line with kes or as a larger frenchman to play with the Sedins. The bottom line is we would get a top two line forward with size and some toughness.. along with a offensive flare. This would also free us up from a Luongo contract which will prevent us from signing and Keeping Scheid's.
