Get Gragnani In There!

It's been nearly 4 games and the Canucks are yet to dress their best playoff performer:

Marc-Andre Gragnani!

This guy may have shown some terrible defensive lapses during the regular season games he played, but the Canucks have to realize that the regular season and playoffs are completely different things. While Tanev had a great stretch of games in the regular season, he's struggled so far in the playoffs in just 3 games.

For those of you who don't remember, Gragnani was a beast for Buffalo in the playoffs a year ago with 7 points in 7 games. Players rarely fluke playoff-performances, which is why we should get this guy into the lineup and onto our struggling powerplay.

Edler - Hamhuis (Edler needs the defensive support)

Bieksa - Salo

Gragnani - Ballard

#1 PP:

Sedin - Sedin - Kesler

Gragnani - Edler

Not if it means putting OUR best D in the playoffs so far, KB4 on his wrong side again.

And by the way I don't think Tanev has struggled any more than anyone else on D.

One last point, while I don't doubt Gragnani will come good in this team...........are you seriously saying that a guy, prone to wandering and getting caught at the wrong end of the ice is what we want playing against this LA team who just live for breakaways?.................errrrr NO!

Isn't he currently ninth on depth chart? Alberts and Rome are both ahead of him. It's not going to happen in the playoffs unless there are a rash of injuries. He's not even practicing with the team if I'm noticing correctly.

I was as intrigued at anyone when we got Gragnani. The guy obviously has a lot of potential.

However, his play in the regular season made it even more obvious that he is not ready. Whether it is his development, or his inability to play within our system, he's simply a liability.

Hoping for more next year...kind of like how Alberts adapted in the offseason.

I think to call Gragnani "our best playoff performer" is at best delusional. Should we give it a try? Not completely against it but can we afford the luxury of a PP specialist that can't defend in an elimination game? I don't think so.
