Did Mike Milbury Just Say The Sedins Were Tough?

Are my ears deceiving me? I was watching the second intermission on NBC and he said

A lot of questions have been raised about whether they [the sedins] are tough enough. Yes they are. These guys can take hits.

I think Milbury showed guts by calling out Crybaby and saying it like it is, even though he went a bit too far by calling him a punk for which he later apologised. Before Milbury no one in the media was saying anything about all the Whining and crying coming from Crybaby and his dirty tactics.

The fact is the Canucks did do a lot of diving in the finals last year. Sedins being the leaders of the team took the heat for it even though they weren't the perpetrators. This year the Canucks are playing more honourably and Milbury and others have noticed it.

There has been no reason to keep an eye on this play off series seeing how they only play 2 games a week. Bigger stories are going on elsewhere right now. When we advance to the second round, the gloves or in Milbury's case, the shoe's come off

Go Canucks Go

He is just acknowleging what the Vancouver fans already know....that the Sedin's are not going to drop the gloves but when it comes to taking a hit to make a play, they step up. Both of the Sedin's have taken big hits this year and they are still front and centre and not playing tentaively. They are both playing like Art Ross winners.

i have to tip my hat to Milbury for not spouting the league rhetoric and is now acknowleging them as great hockey players.

Look at this this way...one less sportcaster bashing Vancouver.

Milbury can say some dense things at times, but I gained some respect for him when he showed that he is not so hardheaded that he is unable to reconsider things - he changed his tone about the Sedins some time ago, after making his ignorant "sisters" comments - I think the Sedins have gotten a bullsh!t reputation for lacking toughness because they don't fight, but everyone who has paid much attention to them can see how strong and resilient they are, and that to hate on them is just ignorant plain and simple. I think Milbury has let up a bit on the macho-posturing - he was making sense when he got into that heated argument with Roenick - I take his comments as an acknowledgement that the Sedins did not deserve the disrespect.
