Today on the fan 590? Prime time Sports, Bob McCown, Damian Cox and Doug MacLean where Doug says when he was the GM, Dave Nonis called him in Columbus and offered him Cory Schneider so the Canucks could take Gilbert Brule. mmmmmmm, interesting cause of what we know and have today.

Thanks Doug, we love you man!

After seeing Brule play for the Giants I thought he was gonna be one hell of a hockey player, boy was I wrong! Pretty sure Columbus helped kill his potential, but I'd want to throw up if I saw Schneider playing on another team knowing we could have had him and had Brule.

Brule might have ended up living up to his promise and Maclean might have ruined Schneider's career by rushing him to the NHL like he rushed Brule.

I heard Maclean say in the past that his son loved Brule and wanted Maclean to pick him. Maclean took his young son's advice and picked Brule then proceeded to rush him to the NHL and effectively ruined his potential instead of developing him in the minors for a couple of years.
