It seemed like a good deal at the time but hes not worth the money. 0 goals in 5 playoff games. Raymond, I defended him till halfway this season but hes someone we should look at trading if we cant get him for 2.5 again. He isnt worth more then that until he does something in the playoffs. Ballard played ok in playoffs but if someone can take him and we can get Suter for 6x6 years dont hesitate Gillis , just like you didnt Hesitate to trade Hodgson for a raw rookie who wont be ready for top line minutes for 3 years, and a plug dman that belongs in a roller hockey league. Kesler isnt to blame aside from him being an idiot. Coming back to early from surgery. Should have taken 2 more weeks... hindsight I guess , but I saw this coming. This isnt AV's fault its Gillis's more then anyone else's. If they trade Lu or Shnieds they better not get fleeced again, our time is in the next 3 years then we are gonna get killed by oilers. Hamhuis is as close to that as we have. Also we need to look at our bottom 6. It might need revamping. Players who will consistently be in the lineup lol. Firstly, Tanev is NOT NHL ready, no matter how many games he gets given. He was exploited a few times in the playoffs and his age is showing, plus this guy is tiny and never hits anyone. Meanwhile we have Rome who is eager to throw borderline hits, and Andrew freakin Alberts who is the only Canuck big and mean enough to scare forwards away. If anyone was going to contain the King's big forwards, it would have been Alberts but AV decides to scratch him. Sami Salo is also getting older and not useful when he plays 20 minutes a game. I want to see something like this next season: Edler - top-3 defenceman Hamhuis - Bieksa Salo - Alberts/shutdown guy As unhappy I am with Bieksa, he has a NTC and won't be gone, but we need more bigger, physical defenceman. In the perfect world, Ballard gets traded and we pick up a defensive specialist, but most importantly we need a big, physical shutdown guy to play with Edler. Basically another Hamhuis but bigger, which is rare, but we have the best comoditiy in the league in Schneider. Unfortunately, MG will probably sit on his hands, thinking his defence is good enough (when in fact it was victimized by the league's 2nd worst offence and down-right embarassed) because our goalies stole the show in the playoffs and down the stretch, so here's what we'll see on openning night. We need some more size in the back with a right handed shot that can replace his. A Shea Weber would be nice but I think he's out of the price range but something like that. If you think about which side of D they play, getting Suter would be more like: Suter Bieksa Hamhuis Tanev Edler Salo Alberts Connauton Getting a right side D is better - which is why people are screaming Weber every offseason. Even more teams will be looking to improve their defense (4 defensive teams made it through in the west) making Suter even more desirable. I just don't see him coming here. Red Wings is my bet. A solid temporary Dman that could play with Edler until Gills makes the splash for Weber he seems to be waiting for. Hamhuis- Bieska Edler- Salo Connauton-Tanev Tanev can also play with Edler some to keep Salo rested Alberts and Rome untill Gilis can get Weber in free agency seems to be the plan otherwise he would of done something this year and that's even if Weber wants to come here?
