canidiot
i dont remeber a discount contract for kes. he had a matched offer. a discount would have him playing for less than that. he got market value, nothing more, nothing less.
CytotoxicCD8TLymphocyte
Kesler for Hodgson
CanucksSayEh
I think his salary is fair to how he can play, but I definitely wouldn't miss him if the return was right.
dorrcoq
if we could do Shea Weber+ for Kesler
canuckbeliever
Another person vastly over valuing our player compared to what is coming back. More like Kesler + + for Weber.
billabong
if he does get dealt it would be a hockey trade and we would get one hell of a player in return
GoaltenderInterference
He took a MAJOR discount to stay here and be apart of the core that all have taken a paycut in order to stick together and try to win a championship. I highly doubt Kes will be traded, Gillis will stick by his commitment to him.
Hotdawg
I'm losing so much respect for sports journalists these days. Sekeres and Price are dissing Kesler today as well. Youve got to wonder how many of them are fans of the team, or just paid trolls, to piss off our players, and fanbase. How many of them were ever athletes themselves? How many of them are just saying whatever it takes to get an arguement going, seeking attention to increase their ratings. Pathetic!
Tru_Knyte
If we traded every Canuck who had an off year we'd never have a team
6string
sure, why not....if you want the likes of a nash, stahl or other high end athletes ya gotta give something, kelser is a great and respected player in the minds of many gm's around the league. Trebreh
If we get an NHL ready blue chip prospect like Philly got with Cotourier, I would trade him. Huberdeau Strome Grigorenko
eyvn
keep telling yourselves that, he is injured every playoffs and hasn't performed except the nashville series. keep making excuses that he will get better the next year
Burnsey
i doubt he will be traded but then again if Gretzky can get traded then any player in the NHL can...
jijitsu
Trading a Selke winner that averages 25-30 goals a season at a 5 mill cap hit? Kelser was mediocere offensivley in the first round yes. However he was in the first round against Chicago last year too. Depending on what kind of team the Canucks face Kelser has to play a different style of game. He was able to do well offensivley against the Preds last year because they don't have a Toews or Hossa to check. Also becuse Sutter and Weber were mostly on the ice against the Sedins. Mookie Wilson
Not particularily, Weber is better than Kesler but the problem with Weber is he has 1 year left on his contract. You usually dont give a Kesler kind of player for someone who has 1 year left but in this situation it makes tremendous sense.

Geoff Peterson
I heard on a hockey show, Kess has a screwed up shoulder and has to go under the knife. This is the so called reason his shot had no zing, thus lack of goal out put..."BALLS"
