Trading a Selke winner that averages 25-30 goals a season at a 5 mill cap hit? Kelser was mediocere offensivley in the first round yes. However he was in the first round against Chicago last year too. Depending on what kind of team the Canucks face Kelser has to play a different style of game. He was able to do well offensivley against the Preds last year because they don't have a Toews or Hossa to check. Also becuse Sutter and Weber were mostly on the ice against the Sedins.

Not particularily, Weber is better than Kesler but the problem with Weber is he has 1 year left on his contract. You usually dont give a Kesler kind of player for someone who has 1 year left but in this situation it makes tremendous sense.
