Tm085
lol anyone hear what this idiot said? his exact quote was "If you put Luongo behind the sieve defense of the Toronto Maple Leafs he'll let in 6 goals a game and the Leafs will be even worse" Luongo will be a huge step up from the garbage you have in net there Bob, get a clue

Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
Considering the team would have to sacrifice some of its pieces in order to acquire Luongo, the team in front of Roberto would be in shambles before he even dresses for his first game as a Leaf. McCown has taken a look at how Roberto has performed in Vancouver, and has stated that he would perform much worse as a Leaf. This is true. While he may not let in six goals, he is criticizing Toronto's defense for being absolute garbage. He is using a hyperbole to describe how awful the team is, and how Roberto would not improve the team in any way. Perhaps this is true. Would Roberto actually discover more success in Toronto than he did in Vancouver? In all likelihood, no. The team would give up assets for him, making the team in front of him worse. Then, if he can not handle being bombarded by shots every single game and watching as the opposition weaves into his crease, he will let in many goals. Vancouver's worst nights on defense are comparable to the nightly performances shown by Toronto's defense. Roberto could potentially be hung out to dry every game, forcing him to make miraculous saves often. Would the team make the playoffs even with him in net? That is still debatable, considering similar teams like Buffalo missed the playoffs this year.
BoKnows53
I'd take the more respectable Ronald macdonald's opinion over bob mcclown any day.
Canucksbiggestfan
I honestly consider Bob McCown to be the negative guy and always bring out the bad things in most situations. I mean whenever they show him talking about something it is usually how he is against it, can't believe he gets payed for that crap.
TOMapleLaughs
He's kindof right. Why waste time getting Luongo when their defense is horrific? However, under Carlyle, the theory is that their defensive play will improve. My main question is who in the hell would be coming back? IF Aquilini completely forgets that he hates Burkes' guts. Cheers. TOML

tocnhockey
Are we going to start a thread every time some one mentions Luongo? Please stop the insanity...seriously!
Donky
The Leafs #1 need is to fix the PK. Roberto Luongo could be the biggest piece of that puzzle.
Common sense
Lu would be behind a depleted Leafs blueline that does not match the depth of the Canucks; as well, he would be under even more pressure from media and the fanbase to achieve success. As a goalie, I'd NTC that in a heartbeat.

MoneypuckOverlord
He's somewhat correct, but not totally. He will improve the Leafs, and as we all know, Luongo plays better when facing a lot of shots so he is not correct. However the way he said it was classless. He will come at a price, but since the Leafs are a rebuild mode, this is a perfect oppurtunity for them to set the foundations.

MoneypuckOverlord
FTR Luongos Save% in 5 years with Florida was .916 in 6 years with the Canucks it was..... .
Gran Turismo
In his defence, in those 5 years also included the years were he was still developing and not a real number 1 goalie yet. The 6 years he was in Vancouver, at this point, he is a fully developed number 1 goalie. But back on topic, I personally don't even want him traded to Toronto, for the sake of Toronto not having him. LIke honestly, frack Brian Burke, If he wants him, he's going have to pay for Luongo. Nuff said.
NuxFan09
It's irrelevant because I'm almost possible Luongo would not waive to go to Toronto.
