steelheads4
To NYI : Keith Ballard To VAN : Casey Cizkas + 5th Rd. Pick . Isles got a solid look at how Ballard bounced back in the playoffs. A change of scenery may change the gravy train for him. NOTE: NYI - history of taking on bad contracts. Canucks get a solid prospect (Cizkas) with the ability to grow in a great up tempo system. Brings solid energy, big hits, an ability to win draws and a solid potential for more. Loved watching this guy at the DUB JAY CEE. May be a solid bottom six in a year or two. 5th rounder as Cizkas' upside may be limited. To CAR : Manny Malholtra To VAN : 4th Rd. Pick. Canes get the desparetly needed defensive center. A lock in the faceoff dot with the abilty to mentor prospects and teamates. His play with puck has fallen off dramatically but i still see value. Vancouver losens their salary situation, with a pick to compensate for the mentorship/leadership/perserverance. To WIN : 4th Rd. Pick To Van : Rights to Mason Raymond Jets get a speedy winger to play with some of their bigger players. Not really much to say. not a fan of Raymond.. i'd take an extra bag of pucks really. Nuff said. Nucks get the pick. not much said. To FLA : Roberto Luongo + 3rd Rd. Pick. To VAN : Rights to Keaton Ellerby + 1 Rd. Pick Personal opinion and i may be wrong but i believe that Theodore is not a starting goalie; he may not like this but he's kind of in the same situation as Martin Biron, that being said Cats get a starting goalie they're familiar with, capable of logging big minutes and keeping them in the playoff hunt. Note: Clemmenson UFA. Van gets a capable young D-men, with good feet. Never the offensive type but a good bottom pairing young D. I would as for Kulikov but ive never been good with the 649. To Dal: Andrew Alberts To Van: 5th Rd. Pick. Dallas gets a spare, but useful part. Punishing hits, capable of moving big forwards in front of net. And apparently can play wing :S Johnnys again free up some space. 2012/2013 Lineup Daniel Sedin $6.1 Henrik Sedin $6.1 Alex Burrows $2.0 David Booth $4.25 Ryan Kesler $5.0 Zach Parise $6.5 Jannik Hansen $1.35 Paul Gaustad $2.75 Chris Higgins $1.9 Samuel Pahlsson $1.5 Maxim Lapierre $1.0 Jordan Tootoo $1.5 Kevin Bieksa $4.6 Dan Hamhuis $4.5 Jason Garrison $1.75 Alex Edler $3.25 Chris Tanev $0.9 Scott Hannan $1.25 Cory Schneider $4.5 Al Montoya $0.95 Dale Weise $0.95 Zack Kassian $0.87 Sami Salo $0.95 Salary Cap - $64.3 Cap Hit - $63.47 = $0.83 My math isn't good but that would be a proposed dream what have you. Complainers and doubtful's welcome Draft Dalton Thrower and Tanner Pearson Cizikas, Ellerby, Schroeder, Rodin, Connauton, Lack could all be youngin's seeing some time next year, not sure where Kassian fits next year either, hence his placement on my lineup. could be in the list named above, Options.. options
Angry Goose
I like how you note NYI have a history of taking on bad contracts. Like that history is going to make them more likely to risk taking on another bad contract. Anyhow, could be a fair trade. Ballard is showing upside. Question is, why would the canucks want to trade him just as he is turning the corner? Him and Tanev could be a solid pairing next year together. And their ability to get the puck out of the zone and rush with the forwards is EXACTLY what the canucks need.
Pears
Luongo for JUST Ellerby?? Those are all huge underpayments by all teams.
steelheads4
Note the Edit** and ive been a fan of ballard and the hits he lays but the problem is the money he's getting paid. is it really worth the 14 pts in over 100 games even is he doubled what hes done in here in vancouve in those 2 season i still see a serious overpayment. Azzy Mahmood
First off, those trades are some of the most realistic proposals I've seen this summer. Well done. And I'd do all of them. But... Parise will make $7m +; Garrison will make $3m +; I do not want Tootoo and his drug history; and I think Pahlsson walks to get more $$$. So good trades, bad signings. Also, Schneider will get $3.5m MAX off Mike Gillis. Max.

goblix
Gaustad is going to look for 3.5 - 4m+ for a contract... Honestly leave these UFAs alone it just causes inflated contracts and will ruin our team. The one UFA i'd target is Whitney, age 39 RW playmaker may want a 1 year deal. Small guy but Booth and Kesler are big so it's a good balance there.

shawn antoski
great proposal except for Luongo to florida ...... Luuuu is worth so much more
Pears
Well of course YOU think its an underpayment. Yes I am sure your proposal of Luongo for Brett Connolly and Tampa's next 5 first round picks will be coming to fruition any time soon.
steelheads4
In my proposal its what i see Florida would be willing to do. including the 1st round. I'd like Kulikov instead, but he seems virtually immovable at this point... the Big stay at home D-men who can skate didnt seem like a bad choice considering.. brett connolly would probably take more than just luongo.
