The Sedin's 6th Sense
Scenario #1 To Toronto: Schneider To Vancouver: Gardiner, Colbourne Scenario #2 To Toronto: Luongo To Vancouver: Schenn, Colbourne
Xbox
Scenario 1, the Leafs would not give up Gardiner Scenario 2, Luongo is not worth that much. Maybe Schenn and a 5th round. He is 33 with a horrid contract
canadiangunner
Schenn and a first is a fair price. Luongo is worth at least that much. People are way undervaluing him and the leafs will need to pony up if they want him as Gillis will charge Burke a higher price then he would another GM. canadiangunner
you're telling me 33 year old Luongo with an NMC and 10 years left is worth the 5th overall and former 5th overall?
Xbox
Thats exactly what I'm telling you. Look at the returns from past deals for high priced talent (i.e. Richards and Carter) and your telling me that an all-star goalie won't get something similar in return. Come on, Gillis aint gonna give him away. Schenn and a first if TO wants him or even more. Even a guy like Varlamov who is not even half the goalie and has zero credentials fetched a first rounder. Luongo has a good six years in him and after that it won't matter as the buyout will be minimum or he can be traded as the team gets to hold the hammer at this stage (i.e. NTC goes away). smithers joe
toronto has been trying to trade schenn and kadri for quite awhile...maybe we could trade them ballard and raymond for them..... why is it that fans, including us, want to send players we deem expendable for a quality player on another team?.... i believe, to get a player you really want, you'll have to be prepared to give up a player, you really don't want to lose...eg, you would never be able to get a guy like nash, for ballard and raymond.....or weber....or...? Kack Zassian
That first rounder wasnt the 5th overall and Luongo is 33 with a horrible contract. No one wants that contract. At least Carter and Richards are younger and the NTCs are gone. You are not getting anything close to that for Luo Maybe Schenn and a 2nd
Grags2Kass
I do not want luke schenn, I wouldn't trade raymond for him honestly he's so awful defensively, is very slow and his shot is very poor as well.
canadiangunner
Gillis was offered Schenn for Hodgson and flat our rejected it. Why would he want him now? Its a non-starter.

70seven
Schenn + the 35th pick would be a fine return for Luongo IMO. Still think its more likley that he goes to TB for the 10th and a prospect like Keith Aulie.
The Sedin's 6th Sense
^ I think aulie sucks....not good at all really, and he reminds me of a Ryan parent 2.
