JustJokinen!
So I recently restored my iPhone 4 from a previous back up in order to retrieve contacts I had deleted. When it restored itself, all the contacts I had made since that date were gone. I was too stupid to prepare for this. I have tried restoring to a back up that was made when I first restored, but it seems that it backed up after the restore, not before, so it doesn't change anything. I now have even less contacts than I started with, which is very frustrating but kind of hilarious. Can anyone help me with this? Is there anyway I can retrieve this info? MrMooresBeard
Im not a computer expert so i have no idea but if you're using windows doesn't it have a contacts folder somewhere ? i know my iphone imports all my contacts to a contacts folder on my computer, not sure if what you did would affect that or not ... Just click start and search for contacts and click on that folder ... worth a shot
hockeyville88
Do you have an iCloud account? Because if you do you can log on to iCloud on a computer and it'll have all your contacts...though it updates every time you charge your phone so maybe it won't have your original contacts any more If you need an app for backing up contacts I use Contacts Sync by My Memova You just make an account and sync your phone to the server every once in awhile. If ever you lose your contacts you just log in on a computer and reverse sync from your computer back to the phone. Good luck
AlexandraM
You mentioned that you created a backup prior to restoring, are you certain about this? If you are, then you can absolutely get your contacts back. If iTunes is not letting you restore from that backup, try using iPhone Backup Extractor. It lists down all the saved backups in your computer and shows you the amount of data that can be recovered from each. It's worth trying, good luck. bjh
Buy a Droid. Google has far surpassed Apple in every way; this includes a proper backup system for contacts.
JustJokinen!
Thanks for the help guys. I tried lots of things including one of those back up extractor programs but I don't think the contacts are in the back ups. I've given up.
