bearington
Swap Lou to Mtl for Price Lou plays for his hometown, Price (GAA 2.43, SVP .913) would play in his home province Price RFA currently $2.750mil, resign for $3.5mil to $4. mil max due to his stats being so so over his career To Wpg Schneider signed at $3.2 per (or let Wpg sign him) Raymond & Wise to Van RW Wheeler 6' 5" 205 17G 47A 64pts or LW Kane,(hometown boy) 6'2" 195 30G 27A, 57 pts D T. Froggy Fresh
Price is younger and better than Luongo. Kane is the face of the Jets and they also have a great young goalie in Pavelec.
da.moose
Winnipeg has Pavelec and has no interest in trading one of our two best forwards and our smartest and most creative offensive defenseman. Mason is a pending UFA and I think we will re-sign him as well probably.
Toews
Lets just look at these trades separately. Luongo for Price A 32 year old goalie who has consistently put up good numbers but has struggled to put it together in front of a good team in the playoffs. He is also one that has trouble putting up with the pressures of the Vancouver market. All that for a young goalie named to the All Star Game this year who was the lone bright spot in an abysmal season for Montreal. Price isn't a one hit wonder either he has put up good numbers for quite a few seasons. Schneider, Raymond, Weise for Wheeler, Kane, Enstrom and Mason Lets look at it from Winnipeg's point of view Wheeler had a great season putting up 64 points. Kane who had a breakout year and is only 22. Enstrom happens to be their top pairing puck moving defenseman. All that for a goalie who has never held a starting job in the NHL, Raymond a struggling player coming off a major surgery and Weise...
bearington
You don't think Lou would do better in his hometown? I did say Wheeler or Kane in the original swap, but included both in the proposed lineup. Wheeler would be a nice addition size-wise beside the Sedins & can put up points. ButterBean
So we give Luongo, an aging goaltender with a ridiculously long contract for Price, who's younger, cheaper, and probably better. Montreal would love to do this. And then you propose we trade Schneider to Winnipeg, even though they are perfectly fine with Pavelec, and you expect them to give to give us their leading scorers and rising powerforwards, and Enstrom, their top pairing defenseman who is a consistent 40+ point player..... And in your supposed lineup you have Booth, a guy who is paid 4 million, playing on the 4th line.

Zoolander
BOOTH IS ON THE FOURTH! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA But seriously, I'd rather see us trade for one top 6 guy like Patrick Sharp or Patrick Kane, then get a Big, Scoring 3rd line centre like Toronto's Colbourne and then go after Defence through free-agency
Pears
I personally would like to keep at least one of our goalies.
StenMan.EXE
Luongo for Price does seem fair and/or equal, but considering the goalies Montreal has given up in the past 4-5 years to keep Price makes me think that'll never happen. Also, i think you are overvaluing Schneider a bit there, and Winnipeg isn't going to give up Kan anytime soon. I also don't see them giving up Wheeler or Enstrom either, not without someone better then Weise and Raymond.
underrated
For Price to get traded, there would have to be major disagreement during contract talks resulting in a bad split. And if a new GM trades the one solid player on that team as the first move, he will be hated!
nd84
I feel Luongo has about 3-5 years left in him and he won't be the same the 4th, 5th year Price has AT LEAST 10 years left in him at 24 years old Jets trade doesn't make sense they aren't going to trade their top 2 young forwards and their #1 puck moving offensive defencemen for a goalie who they don't need. Pavelec is a workhorse and a great goal tender. Jets need to add more pieces that will help me not subtract
