Prediction: If We Trade Luongo Or Schneider, Either Will Win A Cup Before The Canucks.

Not being a negative nancy about our teams' chances for the future, just making a prediction. I'm taking bets. (Although it's a bet i'd be happy to lose.)

-Tampa Bay is capable of winning as soon as next season if they get a decent starter.

-TO might do it as well. Not next season. Maybe not for awhile. But Burke's starting to make some better trades as of late and there's no telling how short our current window is.

-Usual contenders Chicago, SJ, Detroit, etc. Of course they're more than capable.

Is there a team we can trade either to that will guarantee they won't win a cup before us? Besides us?

Luongo is ONE problem of the canucks playoff failures. The next problem is the sedins. We wont win any cup with the soft core players we have right now. Too bad canucks organization can't realize this. Sharks have had the same core for a long time now and yet they still fail constantly. Same with the Capitals. Got to shake up the core. And not to mention that the window is closing and Sedins are going to be passing their prime soon. So they got to figure out something

Nope. Even if traded to tampa their d is way to weak and they have an again St. louis and past his prime lecavlier. Take out stamkos and that team competes with Columbus.

Naturally trading Luongo to the Leafs make them an automatic Cup contender, well above our ability to compete with....

How the hell does that logic work! They aren't even a playoffs team, and we have been one of the top teams in the league regardless of who we have in goal.

I don't understand how people think we're going to be worse next year. As it stands, we can only actually play Schneider or Luongo at separate times, either way our team has a stunning goalie. By trading either one of them, the team will aquire some useful pieces that will bolster either offense or defense. We can only get better by these trades.

If you honestly think that Luongo can carry a team to a cup, then I laugh at you. If he was going "to carry" any team to the cup, it would be a team like the Canucks who are already a capable team as well as a contender. Just by sending him to some random non-playoff team doesn't guarantee him a cup win.

As for Schneider going to a bottom feeder team and turning them into a stanley cup championship team, lets remember that although he appears to be an amazing goalie, Schneider has never played more than 30 games in a season. He isn't proven, and I will certainly take bets on that.

That's why they swept the Caps in 2nd round & went to game 7 of Conf Finals with Boston, because they are weak. And managed to win the Cup in 2004. So really that team has achieved more than Canucks have... a team that competes with Columbus is better than the Canucks with their accomplishments. Says a lot about Vancouver, I guess.

So many arrogant fools in here dismissing great teams when their own has little to show for all their talent.

Depends where they go if LU goes to TB, they instantly become a contender.

Lu would prob help the Leafs make the playoffs but who knows from there. He would have to carry that team on his back like he did here in 06/07.

The way they ref in the playoffs it seems you need lots of mean, 4by 4 size, gritty players, who know how to play on edge and not take penalties. (Boston, Hawks, Philly) come to mind. In this new NHL size does matter, Big D-men, and one or three guys who will take it to the net, perimeter play might work in the regular season, but seems to fail dramatically during playoffs.

Why did we ever trade Taylor Pratt...he's a pretty big guy with skill...oh well..."BALLS"
