ken kaniff Posted May 4, 2012 Share Posted May 4, 2012 to van: malone, garon, det 1st, tb 2nd to tb: luongo, sauve, 2nd van gets a power forward(kinda) and a additional 1st round pick tb gets a great goalie, a d prospect and a pick to van: dal 2012 2nd + 4th to dal: raymond, alberts dal gets a young winger to get a younger team like they want and a depth defencman van gets decent draft picks to NYI: ballard to van: NYI 3rd + mid level prospect van unloads ballard's contract for draft pick and a prospect NYI gets a top 4 defencman send kassian down to the minors. let jensen-schroeder-kassian develop some chemistry for a year or 2 signings salo 1 year 1.5mill pahlsson 2 years 2mill per moen 2 years 1.75mill per gragnani, rome 3 years 800 000 per weise, ebbett, volpatti 2 years 650 000per allen 3 years 2.4mill per schneider 5 years 3.5mill per draft *assuming the players i drafted are still available by the 23rd and 26th spot -wth Detroit's pick we draft D Olli Maatta 23rd overall(solid defenseman, big 6'2 198lbs, needs to work on skating and point shot) -with our pick we draft C Colton Sissions 26th overall(gritty 6'1 189lbs center. captain of his team in the OHL. replace shroeder on the center depth chart if he is brought up to the NHL soon) let them develop for a couple of years wait for people from our roster to be moved or retire to step up roster next year 1st line: sedin sedin burrows(skill line produces consistently) 2nd line: malone kesler booth(hard hitting line with a lot of skill. just need to develop chemistry) 3rd line A:moen pahlsson hansen(great checking line. fast and reliable) 3rd line B:higgins lapierre malholtra (another checking line with offense and grit) Spares: weise, ebbett volpatti 1st paring: bieksa hamhuis(great shutdown guys, that can score) 2nd paring: allen edler(big gritty line. both allen and edler are good at hitting) 3rd paring: salo tanev(reliable paring. salo can mentor tanev untill he retires) spares: Rome, Gragnani schneider(great goalie as we all know) garon(reliable backup. dont think lack is just ready yet. maybe another year with the AHL) cap space: roughly 850 000 remaining solid team great depth .bigger and grittier i believe this would happen in the offseason. maybe not signing moen but thats what should happen Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would be dissapointed though if Bryan Allen and Ryan Malone were expected to take this team to the next level. Hopefully Gillis will try to get a little more creative than this. I suspect that TB will not give up two first rounders in the package to get Liongo. They might give up one, and it would likely be the lower of the two. Dallas probably doesn't need Raymond as they already have Benn, Ericksson, Morrow, Nystrom and Ott on the left wing. As a salary dump, the Ballard trade does the job, however, I suspect that Ballard can get a greater return. Higgins as a 4th liner is a waste of talent.
