Renney's Contract Not Extended For 2012-13 Season

Recommended Posts

Tom Renney's time as head coach of the Edmonton Oilers appears to be done after two seasons. According to a team tweet, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini has announced the club will not renew Renney's contract. After finishing the season with the NHL's second- worst record, the Oilers decided to part ways with the 10th coach in their franchise's history.

Can't really blame the coach. Even one of the greatest Coaches "Patt Quinn" couldn't do much with them. You can only do so much with a weak roster. Regardless of who is coaching them next season, they are almost bound to improve. There's no way, they can suck any worst, they are so bad, they can only get better, they were so bad, they can't get worst, so no matter what they are bound to improve anyways.

.... or they might just suck again and draft number 1. LOL.

Renney has a .439 winning percentage which is horrible, but at least it's not like John Maclean's (he coached the Devils a season ago) who had a .272 winning percentage before being replaced by Lemaire (who with the same roster produced a .591 winning percentage...)
