Somebody missed that memo at the trade deadline!

Short and medium term there is nobody else on the horizon now. Nobody to relinquish Kesler to a checking role. Not even someone to compliment him. So we can speculate as to whether RK17 can return to health. It's also highly doubtful we would get value in trade while in the recovery ward. Then his NTC kicks in.

But a healthy Kesler can take on physical challenges that AV has been sheltering the Twins/Burrows from for years. In 09/10 RK17 scored 75 points at age 25, without pumped up PP numbers. 28 to 32 should be a players peak years. He is turning 28 now!

Assets bypass any good years the Twins have left. Edler and Burrows are UFA next year. We need to prey that he can return to form and peak above his 09/10 performance. Our "window" depends on it!

:canucks:

And it will be the same this year. I believe he was also hurt in the playoffs for the last number of seasons before last year. At what time does a team stop giving a player a break and do whats best for the team. Kesler isn't getting younger, You do not generally get healthier as you age, he has been injured year after year with increasingly more severe injuries. Trading him for assests or "demoting" him to be the checking center he is would be the smart thing to do. Betting on him to be the secondary or primary offensive force now and in the future is absolute folly, backed up by a number of years of evidence.

interesting find; how'd u get these numbers, OP?

Do you have the stats for Burrows during the times where the Twins were separated by injury and when he got bumped down to Kes' line vs. his production with the Twins? I doubt he would keep his P/60 at 2+ levels, whereas other talents can likewise get bumped up to that level with the Twins

Also fascinated by Raymond and Hansen's stats (maybe Mason can bring value back after all :P)

Higgins/ Burrows - Kes - Hansen would be good for the 2nd line, all of these guys play aggressively and can thrive near the net with their size, with both Higgy and Jannik dishing the pucks. Just hope Kes' number isn't accurate...

I think the fact that Manny averages almost 1.5 points/60 minutes is the most impressive part of this stat.

Most of his minutes are spent checking or penalty killing. Hopefully, the people who want to run him out of town will see this stat.

Very interesting read.

Raymonds production p/60 is impressive. Problem is our top 6 needs players with size who can displace d men from pucks, crash the net and protect the puck on the cycle. Think about the impact D.Brown, Penner and King have had on each of the kings top 3 lines.

Trashing Kesler is rediculous. 40 goal centers that win Selke's and center there countries top lines do not grow on trees. Had the first off year as a Canuck due to major hip surgery and a major shoulder injury. Just stop the diving and he will be fine.

Pahlssons stat line shows everything we need to know about whether or not we should re-sign him as our 3rd line center. To add to this Kesler will be gone to start the year so we need a guy who can move to top 6 when needed.

Kesler has played with a bad hip, and this year with a torn shoulder and you think his lease has expired.

I hope that he resists the urge to come back early this time around and waits until he is close to 100% healthy before he returns. At least that way, he will come back and perform at a high rate and make people like you eat your words.

The only thing that has lost it's shiny armour is the small bit of credibility that you have as a poster.
