Zoolander
Here is a list of the top 15 Right Wingers ordered by assists. This might be a little tough to read, and I know stats don't exactly show who the best player is but I just thought I'd throw out some names of playmakers assuming Kesler once he is back doesn't move to a wing position. Who would you like to target out of these players and what would it take to get him? Here's my pick. mcgillnuck
I know Whitney is a LW, but he's still the easiest option IMO. And the only Jets I would trade Edler for are Kane and Bogosian.
ButterBean
Almost all of the players you listed are either untouchable are way too hard to get without giving up a major piece of our team.
WHL rocks
Edler has a few bad games and now CDC wants to drive him to the airport. Edler is not going anywhere. He's coming off a 49 point season. Edler is the cornerstone of the Canucks D corps for years to come. Lidstrom didn't win his first Norris until he was 30 years old. Edler is a future Norris winner. Even if MG wanted to do this WPG wouldn't because Edler is UFA at the end of next year. They lose Wheeler and a 1st for 1 yr of Edler because Edler would most likely test the UFA market if he was traded out of VAN.

Zoolander
Agreed, I really like the idea of signing Whitney. Hopefully Canucks approach him during Free Agency and hopefully he believes in this team at winning the Cup because he's aging and I'm sure he'd like another shot at the cup. Booth - Kesler - Whitney; would be a very good 2nd line as Whitney is a great play-maker which is what Kesler and Booth is really needing on their line. I don't want to see the 2nd line again where all 3 are shoot-first type players.
Thunder Bunnies
Can you give an example? Higgins isn't shoot first, and Burrows was very hesitant to shoot when put on Kesler's line. Especially because he was looking for the Tic-Tac-Tic-Tac-Tic-Tac-Tic-Tac-Toe play he's used to.
Franz Liszt
Any playmaking left wingers? Booth played well on right wing, so I am wondering.

Zoolander
Interesting note. Alex Tanguay was the 12th best playmaking LW and Vinny Prospal was 7th! ( That being said, Prospal will have his 38th birthday this coming season.

Lockhart
Amex line is pretty good, we just need to figure out our 3rd line centre and who will replace Higgins on the 3rd line.

da.moose
Jets would say no. Wheeler was by our best forward last season and should continue to develop into one of the better wingers in the game. As much as I love Edler, the Jets already have Bogo, Enstrom, and Byfuglien and Wheeler is just too good to give up. Nevermind our 1st rounder involved as well. Franz Liszt
After watching numerous videos of Stamkos' goals and miscellaneous other Tampa Bay Lightning videos, I have come to the conclusion that TEDDY PURCELL is the guy we should trade for. - He made a lot of tough passes last year - He is good at protecting the puck - He can also score very well - He is also a powerplay specialist Check out these two nice passes: The second goal in this video: I also made a proposal for Purcell in this thread: /topic/330047-proposal-van-tbl-purcell-van-clb-nash/">http://forum.canucks...l-van-clb-nash/
