The Sedin's 6th Sense
To Vancouver: L. Schenn, C. Franson (Rights), TOR 1st To Toronto: R. Luongo, M. Raymond (Rights) - Vancouver gets possibly the most value they can get by trading Luongo. - Toronto gets an elite in Lu and Burke essentially has to pay the price because his job is on the line. To Vancouver: D. Clarkson, P. Sykora (Rights), Conditional NJD 3rd if Sykora doesn't sign To New Jersey: D. Booth, Conditional VAN 6th if Sykora signs - Vancouver gets rid of a big contract, get a hard worker in Clarkson, and get a solid depth player in Sykora. - Devils get a needed big power forward in Booth as they are getting beat physically in the finals. To Vancouver: EDM 1st To Edmonton: L. Schenn, TOR 1st - Vancouver get the 1st overall and draft Yakupov for a much needed offensive player; 17 goals in last 12 playoff games for Vancouver...not good enough. - Edmonton has no need in the 1st as drafting another forward would make zero sense; need d and Schenn is the guy + a top 5 pick makes up for losing the 1st. To Vancouver: R. Strome, J. Bailey To New York: K. Ballard, A. Alberts, MA Gragnani (Rights), B. Sweatt, A. Gordon, VAN 1st - Vancouver loses cap and gets a former 5th round pick who can help fix the 3rd line centre problem and a depth player. - Isles have no space for a centre...Tavares is their building block and it wouldn't make sense to keep Strome, especially with other centre prospects who are looking really promising. Islanders get a much needed upgrade on D, getting a top 4 d-man in Ballard, a top 6 in Alberts, a offensive QB in Grags. Plus, they get a good winger prospect in Sweatt and a 1st which just helps towards what they are going towards. Signings: Weber - 6 years, $45 million; $7.5 mill per year Schneider - 4 years, $14 million; $3.5 mill per year Yakupov - 3 years, $9.75 million; $3.25 mill per year Salo - 1 year, $2 million Franson - 3 years, $3.75 million; $1.25 mill per year Biron - 2 years, $2 million; $1 mill per year Schultz - 3 years, $2.7 million; $900K per year Sykora - 1 year, $900K Carkner - 2 years, $1.5 million; $750K per year
Smashian Kassian
It will take more to get the 1st overall pick. And I doubt NYI would do that, keeping Strome does make sense as he could be there 2nd line center or else play the wing, though the value might be there for the deal im not that the trade makes sense for the Islanders to trade two young players like that, when they are building a young core of players. logic
No way in hell the Isles do that trade.
Patrick Jane
only players i see getting traded are ballard, lu, raymond, alberts and Påhlsson and signed garrison and moen Lu, raymond, alberts, 2nd 2012 and 3rd 2012 for franson, schenn and 2013 1st(not 2012) Ballard and Pahlsson to ana for there 2nd round and 5th round 2013 picks Than Franson, Kassian, van 2012 1st for Brayden Schenn Sedin Sedin Burrows Booth Kesler B.Schenn Higgins Lappy Hansen Moen Malhotra Jensen Hamhuis Bieska Edler L.Schenn Garrison Rome/Tanev Cory and Lack and we would have about 7 million left in cap space

Dion Phaneuf
The 1st and 3rd deals are the only ones that are fair for both teams.
Jägermeister
I would make that deal with Jersey for sure. I would also love the Islanders deal, but there is no chance whatsoever Snow would accept that.
Joker
Why would the Devils trade Clarkson? A 30 goal scorer for an underachieving power forward. That's not going to happen.
ButterBean
It makes absolutely no sense for NJ to trade Clarkson if they wan't to become better physically. Clarkson is clearly the better hitter and fighter, and he's just starting to break out offensively.

SteveNash
Now way the Islanders do that deal, and as for the Devils they are trading away one of their few physical threats for a smaller guy who scored less goals this years.

If he doesn't get back to his standards, leave him there till playoffs. Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Weber Franson - Carkner Salo, Tanev, Schultz Schneider Biron Cap Hit = $62.439 million Cap Space = $1.861 million, considering the cap max ($64.3 mill) doesn't move which it will and give us even more flexibility. ...Also, don't think signing Weber is impossible cause he clearly doesn't want to stay in Nashville, thus why he barely signed 1 year for this past season by going into arbitration. He IS a BC boy, his home, and just like when MG signed Hamhuis it seemed impossible then too. MG's smart, he won't trade for rights or anything...he pre-plans a big signing and tells the player to basically know your role and wait till we can talk to you and ink you. Its how Hamhuis was signed too, another BC boy - numerous teams were after him, but he knew his role and knew where he wanted to go (Just like how Weber wants in here, assuming) and stayed put. MG didn't get Hamhuis's rights, and he won't do anything of that sort cause its not his thing. So for this Weber signing, MG gets it done like how he got Dan by just waiting till Free Agency comes.
