Bombastik der Teutone
seems a sick tandem so the caps are going with neuvirth/holtby next season
Lonny_Bohonos_14
@TSNBobMcKenzie: WSH had given Vokoun permission to shop around before July 1. PIT made an offer that others, including TOR, wouldn't.

TheWheeler
That stanley cup champion did it with 1 goaltender. Use your brain for a second, it'll help.
NightHawkSniper
Great move by the Penguins. I wonder if Nashville will do the same with the rights to Suter.

Neversummer
Bit of a surprise move out of nowhere ... wondered why TO didn't make an offer. Maybe they did but we don't know about it.
NightHawkSniper
i know your just kidding but... i was listening to lebrun on team 1040 a few weeks back and if nashville were to trade suters, they would be asking for 2nd round pick...and maybe a 1st rounder.....ridiculous price for a players rights, i dont care who it is

Bill F-ing Murray
Do you think the actions of a Stanley Cup champion and a now perennial playoff team does NOT influence how another GM thinks of their team? Come on, think man. If Pittsburgh decides a goal tending tandem is the way to go, I guarantee you other GM's are going to give it thought. And look at St. Louis this year with Halak/Elliot. The more it happens, the more wheels it gets. It's not rocket science.
The Sedin's 6th Sense
And to think teams in need of a goalie would pay a price for Vokun to fill in the hole....7th round pick, holy sh|t what a steal! This makes Fleury tradable now and not to mention, Lu's and Schneid's trade value just went through the roof. / another goalie off the market. smokes
All we need is for Harding to re-sign in Minny. Harding, Bernier, and maybe Elliot are really the only goalies left on the market.
billabong
Was I? I'm hoping Poile is dead-drunk when Gillis pitches this offer.
The Sedin's 6th Sense
Any way you look at it, With Vokoun signed to Pittsburgh and Thomas taking a year off, Luongo just became the hottest veteran commodity in the NHL.
Tru_Knyte
Fleury is still going to be the starter, Vokoun as a serviceable backup. Anyone who watches more than Canuck games would know that Johnson was absolutely horrendous this year.

Dion Phaneuf
I'd take him as the backup to schneider here, one of the better backups in the league
Robongo
Morons saying Pittsburgh is going to trade MAF with the new 2 year acquisition of Vokoun. Seriously, think before you f'ing speak. This is almost a double edged sword for Vancouver. A) It can drive up the value of Schneider / Luongo like crazy now that Thomas and Vokoun are off the market. It can influence Gillis that goaltending tandems are the way to go and he keeps both Luongo and Schneider. I am going to be EXTREMELY disappointed if Gillis goes the tandem route... I can't think of the last time a true goal tending tandem actually won the cup. Luongo or Schneider I hope get dealt to fill our other most important needs (Top 6 forward, Top 2 D). allkill326
Well, Fleury will have a less intense workload with Vokoun being a backup. Good acquisition by the Penguins.
