[Proposal] Vancouver Offseason for a team that wants to win for each other.

Recommended Posts

Vancouver obviously needs some sort of inner motivation to get them over the hump so here's what i suggest:

Trades:

Fla- Roberto Luongo, Jannick Hansen, Jordan Schroeder, Van 1st 2012

Van- Stephen Weiss, Tomas Kopecky, Jason Garrison (rights), Fla 2nd 2012

Then,

NYI- Kieth Ballard, Van 2012 2nd

Van- Nyi 2012 2nd and 3rd

Then,

Tor- Mason Raymond, Dale Weise, Nyi 2012 2nd

Van- Mike Komisarek

Signings:

Ryan Smyth

Jason Arnott

Jason Garrison

Bryan Allen

Guillaeme Lattendresse

Lineup:

Sedin/Sedin/Kesler

Booth/Weiss/Higgins

Burrows/Arnott/Kopecky

Smyth/Lappierre/Lattendresse

Bieksa/Hamhuis

Edler/Garrison

Komisarek/Allen

Schneider/

Lack

Bringing in two of our players best friends (Lappierre and Latendresse, aswell as Komisarek and Higgins) we will have more locker room chemistry and character which our management does look for alot. Bringing in Ryan Smyth gives us the extra drive to win for him because he's never won before. Jason Arnott brings experience and a cup ring as well as leadership. We now have a huge bottom 6 as well as defense corps who are very physical basically adressing all our needs. Bringing in Weiss and playing him with two guys he's played with before brings pre-made chemistry and success as well as a more lethal top line with kes on it. All of our bottom 6 are versatile as well helping our team in a long playoff run. If our team cant get excited and motivated for play-offs with this line-up there's no helping us.

Thoughts?

Agreed, we need tough players, but players like Smyth and Arnott set a good example and would be guys who could lead the team into a play-off battle. Let Kassian have one more year of top line minutes in the AHL before making the jump, or we can make room for him at the deadline. Bitz can sub in and out for injuries.

I'd rather keep Hansen than take Kopecky. Hansen is very underrated. He's extremely fast, hits a lot, is great defensively, creates turnovers and is great along the boards. Burrows ~ Arnott ~ Hansen would be a very good two-way/shutdown line.
