Strombone1
In a phone interview with Team 1040 today, GM of the Vancouver Canucks confirms the organization sending a qualifying offer to defenceman Marc Andre Gragnani. EDIT: Gillis apparently mis-spoke because Canucks let go of MAG.

CanucksFanMike
Good! He is a little unstable in his own end but he is simply a treat to watch in the offensive zone! Plus, he has time to develop with a deep Canucks team... I wouldn't mind seeing him sent down to play big minutes and patch up his defensive game with Chicago next year. No need to rush him into the lineup on a deep defensive team
cs2016
You can never have enough d-man. Hopefully he can still get better with a little seasoning in the AHL or maybe he'll make a good depth d-man.

Grape
I believe in this guy, still young, very explosive offensively. Just needs to work on defensive positioning and awareness.

oldnews
Was hoping and expecting this to happen - showed a lot of potential, particularly after settling in a bit - could be a real asset with a shutdown partner.

WHL rocks
Grags made $550k last year @ the NHL level and $55k @ AHL on a 2 way contract. No way MG doesn't qualify a good young Dman with potential at league minimum salary. This was totally expected. Canucks made sure to get Grags enough games last year so he doesn't become UFA this year.

The Brahma Bull
He has sick offensive vision. Outside of the Sedins I think he has the best offensive creativity. Makes nice passes. Honestly, he probably would have played better than most of the guys we were throwing out on the 2nd line with Kesler who don't know how to pass. Hopefully he can learn the Canucks system during the training camp and can be depended on to play some good D.
hudson bay rules
tell me how a career minor leaguer (3rd rounder) gets press time if it weren't for the off season then. dId Gillis even offer him a one way contract?

hockeyville88
That guy doubled my rate of mini heart attacks when he arrived here. Not a fan of his forays into the slot and behind the net when he should have been back at the point.
