[Confirmed] MAG NOT Qualified after hearing he was by MG

Recommended Posts

In a phone interview with Team 1040 today, GM of the Vancouver Canucks confirms the organization sending a qualifying offer to defenceman Marc Andre Gragnani.

EDIT: Gillis apparently mis-spoke because Canucks let go of MAG.

Good! He is a little unstable in his own end but he is simply a treat to watch in the offensive zone! Plus, he has time to develop with a deep Canucks team... I wouldn't mind seeing him sent down to play big minutes and patch up his defensive game with Chicago next year. No need to rush him into the lineup on a deep defensive team

Grags made $550k last year @ the NHL level and $55k @ AHL on a 2 way contract.

No way MG doesn't qualify a good young Dman with potential at league minimum salary.

This was totally expected. Canucks made sure to get Grags enough games last year so he doesn't become UFA this year.

He has sick offensive vision. Outside of the Sedins I think he has the best offensive creativity. Makes nice passes. Honestly, he probably would have played better than most of the guys we were throwing out on the 2nd line with Kesler who don't know how to pass. Hopefully he can learn the Canucks system during the training camp and can be depended on to play some good D.
