Mack Attack
Florida's one of the teams rumoured to be in on Luongo (although reports change every day) due to Markstrom not being quite ready yet. He's certainly an upgrade on Theodore for next year, and it would be hugely beneficial for him to act as a mentor to Markstrom for a couple of years just like he did to Schneider. To Florida: Roberto Luongo To Vancouver: Marcel Goc 1st Round Pick (23rd Overall) Rights to Jason Garrison While not jaw-dropping value, I feel this is a good trade for both teams. It addresses the need for another solid centre in Goc and a top-4 defenceman if we can sign Garrison, and gives us another first rounder to add to our prospect pool. As for Florida, moving Goc opens up a spot for one of Huberdeau, Howden or Bjugstad on the roster. They'll probably be looking to move Garrison's rights if he won't resign, and Luongo gives them more value than a 5th or 6th round pick would. They can also afford to give up their first (the lowest it's been in years) due to the strength of their prospect pool. Thoughts?
Jägermeister
I don't think we are getting enough in return. I have the feeling Garrison will becoming here regardless (at least I really hope so), so I don't think his rights are a big selling point.
