[Trade] Buffalo-Calgary

Well, think on this:

Derek Roy (Gone in a few years)

Tyler Ennis

Cody Hodgson

Mikhail Grigorenko

Radek Faksa Zemgus Girgensons

H Sedin (Gone in a few years)

Kesler (Remain for a decade or so, declining in role as he gets older)

To be a top 6 center in Buffalo, Hodgson now has to compete against Grigorenko (clearly better offensively), Girgensons and Ennis (already outplaying Cody). To be a top 6 center in Vancouver, he had only Jordan Schroeder as competition down the middle. He would have had to wait 3-4 years until the Sedins retire, but he would have had 3-4 years to hone his skills under the some of the best in Henrik Sedin and Ryan Kesler.

Now, he has to compete against a younger, bigger and better player in Grigorenko, Ennis who is outplaying him right now, and a big and physical Girgensons - that is, even if Roy is traded.

Cody is one of many who Buffalo is juggling to see who comes out on top. Cody, in Vancouver, would have had to earn his stripes for a few years, but develop properly into the top 6 role as the go-to guy.

EDIT: Girgensons, not Faksa
