kebih22
Didn't the TSN box during the pick have him compared to J Stahl? This could turn out to be the steal of the draft. Of course, Hodgson falling into the Nucks laps was supposed to be the steal of that draft
jcroams
Imagine if the canucks drafted good talent and developed there skills on the farm just to trade them away. Oh wait a minute?????

KSniper88
Good choice, but was hoping for a local boy Sissons who was one rank below gaunce in the nhl final north american skaters rankings http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectbrowse.htm?cat=1&sort=finalRank&year=2012

oldnews
The prototype of the young center the Canucks needed. I think the Canucks were very fortunate he was still available. Some odd picks in this draft thankfully - thought Samuelsson would be the best center available at 26, but Gaunce has size, two way hockey sense/intelligence, is physical, good in the face-off circle, and has the intangible, character - all things that make him a very good prospect to solidify the third line center position and attributes that could allow him to make the team at a younger age than most prospects... Very surprised Calgary did not take him, considering their weakness up the middle... Couldn't have hoped for a better outcome at 26.
Bilbro Baggins
Samuelsson will bust. Gaunce has a much better work ethic. I wouldn't be surprised if he made the World Juniors team next year.

hockeyking
you know what I like about big forwards drafted in the entry draft if they turn out a bust they could always be 3 line grinder who could score if he is a success he will be a nasty power forward that everyone wants

sonoman
TSN compares everyone to a current NHL stat. Just because they compared him to Staal, doesn't mean he will be as good. It's just a comparison of their styles. If he turns out as good as Staal I will be surprised and very happy.
Tangelos
Kesler is 26, he's not slowing down for another 7-9 years. Gaunce solidifies our 3rd line for years to come.
Ghostsof1915
For folks freaking we haven't gotten a right handed D-man. Damon Severson of the Kelowna Rockets is projected around 45th pick. Maybe we can trade up or luck out.
