Relaxed Vancouver GM Mike Gillis worked the room for two hours leading up to the start of the draft talking to several teams, including the Florida Panthers and the Phoenix Coyotes. But the focus continues to be on a Toronto-Vancouver blockbuster deal that would then require Luongo's stamp of approval to wear the blue and white. The Canucks are working without a list from Luongo, technically listening to offers unsure if Luongo will ultimately accept a move. But Luongo has made it clear he'll waive his no-trade clause if the Canucks deem that's what is best for the team. Indications were, as the two sides progressed toward a possible deal, that the Leafs would have to do better than offering Luke Schenn to get Luongo. Of course, that could change. But the Canucks continue to present themselves as a team in no rush to move its star netminder. The pressure, some believe, is on the Leafs, who right now don't have a reliable No. 1 goalie.
