TOMapleLaughs
He's got a few more records to set. Don't picture him doing it on another team. The agent hire is likely a scare tactic. TOML
UFCanuck
Luongo for Josefson, Clarkson, and a 2nd.
darkpoet
They let him walk after he takes them to the Stanley Cup Final? Who does that ?!
TheGhostOfRazor
The only reason I could imagine that the Devils would let Marty walk is to use that money to try to keep Parise. They have to sign a lot of guys this summer. If that's the case you would think it would rule out any interest in Luongo. Just a thought.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
WTF? How could Jersey not sign him? This is so weird. Maybe they're lowballing him? But that doesn't make sense, they wouldn't do that to the guy that's been the face of the franchise for 20 years, would they? I can't imagine him playing anywhere else. Edit: I forgot they have ownership issues there. It must be to do with that.
canuckbeliever
Luongos' value goes down. Makes MUCH more sense for the likes of Toronto or Florida to sign Marty rather than trade for Luongo

Neversummer
I instantly thought of Toronto as well. Brodeur would be a perfect fit, good for 1-2 years to play & mentor Reimer/Scrivens, get the Leafs into playoffs. Would be in line with Burke's plan and direction. canuckbeliever
I agree. Why the f does Marty pull a move like this? It makes zero sense.

Hap
There were rumors a a couple weeks ago about NJ trading Kovalchuk to free up salary for Parise. If they need a goalie now... Luongo for Kovalchuk?
TheGhostOfRazor
For the record, there is a zero percent chance that if NJ let's Marty walk that they would look at Luongo.
canuckbeliever
Devils' financial situation has prevented GM Lou Lamoriello from committing to re-sign Martin Brodeur so he will test market as UFA

Mike Vanderhoek
Brodeur did not mention until in the heat of the Playoffs that he would like to play next year. Hiring an agent doesn't mean anything in particular lol. He could be in discussion with New Jersey but having no deal in place it would be smart to have an agent come July 1st is all. These tweets by the " analysts " are too funny. Jump the gun much ? If Brodeur does not retire in New Jersey I would be shocked.
