[Signing] Oilers sign Dane Byers

- Oilers sign F Dane Byers to one year contract

The Oilers agreed to terms with left-winger Dane Byers on a one-year contract.

Byers spent last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and their main affiliate, the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

He had 16 goals and 23 assists with 108 penalty minutes in 61 AHL games last season.

Byers also appeared in eight games with the Blue Jackets collecting 29 penalty minutes.

Good depth signing. Can't imagine him getting much ice time with the oilers but hes a solid depth signing team. Oilers are going to be a VERY exciting and quick team this year. I'm looking forward to it...not so much in a few years time but for now I am.

Just like the Canucks are cup favourites after the Patrick Mullen Singning?

Depth signing for a young team with a very bright future.

Last year Oilers were one of 2 or 3 teams that were most fun to watch, this year with additions of Yakupov and Schultz I believe the Oilers will be THE most exciting team to watch.
