Ilya Mikheyev
Offer him a 1 year/1.225 million dollar deal. He's has good size at 6'3/203 pounds. Possesses a good ability to step in and out of the line-up without missing a beat. Had an even rating all last year including the 4 playoff games he played. Is right-handed which gives some versitality to the Canucks' 7th/8th defenseman. (Alberts and Eminger). Is young at 26 and is decently mobile. Before being used as a 7th defenseman in the past two years by the Rags, he actually showed some offensive talent as well at the NHL level.. putting up 16 points/63 games and 26 points/71 games. Former first round pick. In 42 games last year had 5 points, 63 hits, 53 blocked shots and averaged 13+ minutes per game. Pretty decent stats for a 7th defenseman who suffered an injury. Rome had similar stats but played 2 more minutes per game (average) and was a -4, even though he went on a bit of a lucky point streak. Thoughts? CanucksFanMike
I completely agree... he would be a very solid depth addition. I'd say we could get him for less than $1 mil per season Sign him to a 2 year, $1.9 million contract ($950 K per)

Phil_314
sure, why not (was hoping for Sheldon Brookbank but he's gone, and depth with physicality and some skill is what it is).
