Drybone
Jonathan Bernier is a backup goaltender for the LA kings and he is NOT related to Steve Bernier.

Justdean10
Since Drafting Linden we have had 10 busts, 4 good picks to go on to other teams to play well for them. 6 players have stayed in Vancouver and done well for the team, this including Schneider as I really believe he is a great pick. I'd like to see other teams comparioson, if they have better Percentage in players turning into good picks. 1988 2nd overall Trevor Linden even though there were later player who were more skilled picked later (Teemu Selanne) I still wouldnt change this pick 1989 8th overall Jason Herter- Bust, didn't play a single game for the Canucks 1990 2nd overall - Petr Neved, though a good player, didn't play as well in Vancouver as he did later in his carreer could have taken players such as Keith Primeau,Mike Ricci,Jagr 1990 18th overall Shawn Antoski- Bust could have taken Keith Tkachuk,Brodeur 1991 7th overall Alek Stojanov- Bust but landed us Nasland 1992 21st overall Libor Polasek- Bust, was a pretty bad year in General 1993 20th overall Mike Wilson - Bust could have taken Saku Koivu, Bertuzzi(got soon after anyway) 1994 13th overall Mattias Ohlund got one of the better picks of the year 1995 no number 1 draft for Van 1996 Josh Holden - Bust could have got Danny Briere 1997 10th overall Brad Ference -bust could have taken, Marian Hossa, Brendan Morrow 1998 4th overall Bryan Allen, kind of a bust I think.. though he was part of the Luo deal could of got Alex Tanguay,Simon Gagne also Datsyuk who was drafted at 171 1999 2nd and 3rd overall The Sedins! Best pick 2000 23rd overall Nathan Smith - bust could of taken Brad Boyles, Steve Ott, Niklas Kronwall 2001 16th overall Rj Umberger, decent player but didn't play for Canucks got nothing for him. 2002 no number 1 draft for Van 2003 23rd overall Ryan Kesler pretty happy with the pick but Mike Richards, or Corey Perry may be better 2004 26th overall Cory schneider best pick at the time 2005 10th overall Bourdon (RIP) 2006 14th overall Michael Graber- good pick though he didn't really play long in Van or get us much but could have taken Claude Giroux 2007 25th overall Patrick White -bust but got us Christian Ehrhoff 2008 10th overal Cody Hodgson good pick but wish now we went with Myers or Karlsson 2009 22nd overal Jordan Schroeder- pretty happy with the pick time will tell 2010 No number 1 draft pick 2011 29th overall Nicklas Jensen-pretty happy with it time will tell 2012 26th overal Brendan Gaunce- same as Jensen

wattevr
The draft that was held here in Van in 2006 was not too shabby either. I really wish they hadve looked at that other right winger instead of Micheal Grabner. No way Giroux would have gone through the same crape he did. Add giroux to our cup run and things just may be different.
LayDownLu
I wouldn't just because he had a bad year doesn't mean he is bad. Most of those players after him have never scored 40 while bringing that same defensive ability, and he showed all that by winning the Selke. Drybone
Its based on his whole career. No one can say this guy has ever shown up and not gone invisible for several games in a row. Besides the Nashville series, he has never been a guy who shows up day in and day out. The 41 goal selke season was great and all, but like 17 pp tap ins via the sisters and he scored in BUNCHES!! He still disappears for way too many games, and his diving and whining is disgusting.
