[Signing] Shea Weber to Flyers (OFFERSHEET)

Recommended Posts

Wow. Teams are starting to stock pile good players, I worry this might be a baseball-esque oligarchy.

Huge deal, I doubt Nashville can throw that kind of money at him, although the cap hit is low at 7.1. Anyone know if any bonuses on the deal, that could be a deal breaker if Nashville can't match a 10mil+ signing bonus.

AAV of $7.14 million, so two 1st round picks, 2nd, and 3rd. Not bad. Why didn't MG do this?

Even if it is 4 first rounders, no way Nashville doesn't match it. Weber means everything to that team, they can't afford to lose him and rebuild - their franchise wouldn't survive it. They're best to match it and then trade him for a huge return next year - which they'll get players to help them then and there not four-six years down the road.
