Datsyukian
If it were my call, I would try putting Hank on the point with either Garrison or Edler. Hank could quarterback the power-play from back there. Not much of a shot but he would mainly be dishing the puck to Garrison or Edler and working that slap pass that he does nicely. I would also like to see Kesler move from in front of the net to the top of the circle. He has a wicked shot, he could use it more. I say stick Kassian in front of the net, he could be very effective in that spot.
Datsyukian
I would like to see Ballard get a crack at the second unit. Then we could take some stress off Bieksa and Hamhuis so they can focus on being our shut-down pairing. They have been alright on the power-play but haven't stood out. Ballard started his career putting up points on the Phoenix and Florida power-plays. Maybe we could get more out of him by giving him some minutes on the power-play. Drybone
I like the edler Garrison combo. We dont need a forward there
bossram
I don't think we need a forward on the point. We have Edler, Garrison, Hamhuis, Bieksa and Ballard if AV ever put him on the PP. I wouldn't want to put Henrik or Kesler on the point. Henrik's best passes come from the half-wall, setting up cross-ice one-timers, slap passes and point shots while Kesler is best used in front of the net for screens and tips and is also an effective shooter from the half-wall. But aside from those two, there isn't anyone who I think has a good enough shot or playmaking ability to warrant being put on defense. Sedin - Sedin - Kesler Edler - Garrison Might as well roll with this as the first PP unit. Put Edler and Garrison on their off sides for one-timers. Kesler in front, he's also able to shoot from the half-wall. The Sedins set up on each side of the ice and run the show. Booth - _____ - Burrows Hamhuis - Bieksa Don't really have a center for the 2nd unit with Hodgson gone. I'd like Higgins to play there, he wouldn't have to do much actual playing center, just hopefully win a faceoff. Put Burrows in front and around the crease, Booth is the shooter/put pucks on net and Higgins is a fairly strong passer; seems to like setting up below the goal line and playing give 'n go's. Make adjustments as necessary.
Tortorella's Rant
Daniel. I think that he was the only forward that actually had success there. Look at the game tying goal against the Wings where we snapped their streak. He manned the point well and ultimately scored. It wasn't a PP but we did have the empty net thus the man advantage so it was basically the same thing. As a forward on the point, you need to have poise. He has plenty of that, obviously. Calm and cool; he's not going to piss the puck away if pressured like most forwards might do. Plus, his slapper is fairly good despite never really using it. He did blow it by Howard in that game to tie it.
kj29
Ballard is a good passer.
Nancouver
I'd rather see 2 defenseman on the point...especially garrison kaboom!!!

Rounoush
Kesler for sure and Burr can plant himself in front of the net.
Jaku
Kes or Daniel.
Canucksbiggestfan
For a forward: Burrows, Hansen, Lapierre, Higgins. For a defencemen: Ballard, Garrison.
gurpparmar
Rather than loading up the first powerplay unit, I would rather even the two units out more. Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Bieksa - Edler/Garrison Park Kassian infront of the net. (defense opposite sides for one - timers) Higgins/Booth - Kesler - Burrows Hamhuis - Garrison/Edler Kesler and Burrows have good chemistry, so can make plays, while Higgins/Booth can either create traffic or hunt for the puck. This way, when the first powerplay unit isnt clicking, we can fall back on the second unit and vice versa. Plus, less wear-and-tear on the Sedins. (dont have to double shift)

brewdog
Someone strong enough to hold the boards, and also fast enough to wheel and prevent a breakaway. If not Burrows, I don't know if we have that type of player. I wish we had someone like Ray Bourque. I don't think anyone could let loose a slapper more suddenly than Ray. greetingsfrombrazil
The first thing I remember is Daniel scoring against Detroit, to tie the game in the last minute. Seeing Henrik seting him one timers would be great.
canucklehead_82
This threads kinda makes me wonder if any of our forwards have a decent slap shot or not like a Brian Roloson (sp?) or Igilna or Doan... Not that you absolutely need this from a forward in order to have a deadly powerplay, but it definitely adds to the versatility the team would have with multiple weapons at various positions. Kes has a great shot, but like a previous poster pointed out, he's much more effective from the faceoff dot than at the point.
