Kass9
Has anyone every appealed a grade at UBC? What was the procedure and did it work out in your favour? Thanks.
hockeyfan87
I never felt compelled to appeal a grade. I'm just curious what makes your circumstance extenuating? I've seen people during my university career complain and appeal grades simply because their hard work didn't get them As.

kazin!
Email your professor for an exam viewing. Done.
kazin!
Also if your carelessness in typing transfers to your coursework then I wouldn't be too surprised why you didn't get a high grade.

KoreanHockeyFan
I'm pretty sure all you do is contact your professor (via e-mail, office hours, etc) and tell him what you think he/she did wrong and where the mistake was.

mpt
What is the basis for your appeal, there obviously must be a reason you didn't get the mark you wanted. Was it an exam, an assignment or just overall.
Zoolander
Is it worthy of an appeal? or are you just being a grade grubber over 1-2%? If it's worthy of an appeal and your work is well done, by all means ask for an appeal. Some teachers are hard-a** ' and that's not your fault. Good luck! Denguin
http://www.calendar....tree=3,53,104,0 AFTER you talk to your professor (i.e. done exam viewings, etc.), that's the procedure it goes through if you're unable to resolve the problem with him/her. What's the reason for the appeal?
flapjacks
I've done that and am waiting for a reply from him. What do you mean by 'done'? Will this help me some way?
Kass9
Okay, thanks to all of you that have replied. I did get a response and he is allowing a viewing. The the thing is, he has posted the final exam marks and all, and I felt confident about the exam, but the result doesn't show how well I did. Now, I probably did bad, or he didn't mark it right. I'm not saying he's at fault, I could be at fault also, there's no blaming. But I just wanted to know the procedure just in case I decide that an appeal is needed. I know you can also appeal the exam itself if you think it has been marked unfairly according to the Guide that AMS has up. EDIT: I'm just trying to exercise my rights as a student if need be. Kass9
Alright guys, the viewing is tomorrow. What happens if we have a dispute between answers on the exam? And say I believe that it wasn't marked correctly? I can choose to appeal, right?
22Sedinery33
You know it would be best to ask an adviser on campus rather then posting on CDC, just saying...

The Colt 45s
It might be smart to read the university handbook. I am certain it will tell you how to appeal it.
Kass9
Argued on a couple of questions, made my point. No change. Contemplating whether I should get it re-makred or not.. Btw, does a different instructor re-mark the exam? If not, there is no point!
