If the following retired players came back...

Recommended Posts

Just for a bit of fun discussion.

If the following retired players tried to make a comeback for this coming season and had a full summer and training camp to get in shape, what would their stats look like? For argument's sake, the skaters play all 82 games and the goalies at least 55. Feel free to add other retired players who aren't too old to tie their laces.

Wayne Gretzky (on the Oilers or Kings)

Mario Lemieux (Pens of course)

Patrick Roy (Avs or Habs)

Dominik Hasek (Sabres)

Pavel Bure (Canucks)

Markus Naslund (Canucks)

Scott Niedermeyer (Devils or Ducks)

Mats Sundin (Leafs or Canucks)

Joe Sakic (Avs)

Peter Forsberg (Avs)

Steve Yzerman (Wings)

Sergei Federov (Wings)

Bure-Naslund-H.Sedin

would that be a beast line?

hank could be the set up man

Pavel, the sniper

Naslund also a sniper, but a set up man as well.

or would that be to much scorers on one line?

i think hank as the set up man would make that work

Naslund and Sundin are both natural leaders and would make an impact in the NHL, I'm sure of it.

A 100% healthy Peter Forsberg would frickin DESTROY! He's always been a physical player and even if you take that away he could live on his hockey sense alone.
