WiDeN
As Jackson's stated to be adding more of the story and also material from the LOTR appendices, I have no problem with 3 movies as opposed to two, or one even. Getting to see more of that world, its characters, the tie-ins and more of what I've read over the years from childhood onward, i'm at least glad to see Jackson not worrying about length, but rather taking the time to give us the story fully and richly. G.K. Chesterton
Yeah. He should have done John Carter, because that was an epic rushed failure. I hate it when they don't take the time to tell the whole story as it was written, or at least close to what was written.
nux4lyfe
Am I the only one not complaining about the 3 parts?..more the merrier and more to look forward too..after all was said and done I wished LOTR was longer..
Islandboss
They managed to fit the other 3 books into 3 movies but they need 3 movies just for 1 book? I'm lost.

Slaytanic Wehrmacht
I really liked John Carter. I thought it was a shame it did so poorly at the box office and reviews.
hudson bay rules
I saw that tripe at the dollar theater and it was so bad if I hadn't been brought there by a friend I would have walked out halfway through.

Garrison
I heard that they were going to refer to the Simarlian (spl) and past battles, so really they should be exciting scenes that gives us a better picture of Middle Earth. Cannot wait for The Hobbit. The LOTR trilogy was the best of all-time, I trust Jackson will make the Hobbit fantastic and not drawn out at all. The best Director there is! UFCanuck
I read this book back when I was in grade 6. Good book, I still remember a lot of it vividly. But 3 movies out of that little book, no way.

Sharpshooter
The Tolkien estate owns the rights to The Silmarillion and Christopher Tolkien despises the Lord of the Rings trilogy, so I don't believe anything from The Silmarillion will be included. Whatever is included in The Hobbit will be related to The Hobbit. Most of the events in The Silmarillion and other Tolkien lore occur way before The Hobbit. sixwings
Im stoked for this and think it was a great decision. He will really be able to flesh out middle earth now. The dwarves of erebor can be fully explained, Bjorne's past, mirkwood, this is going to be awesome!
Avicii
I've always really wanted to see that battle in Mordor, you know when men/elves marched into Mordor and had that huge battle and Isildur crapped on everyone's faces? I think the scene was in like the first one.. I would kill to see the entire battle.
