Expansion to Ottawa is already approved. Using a region with a minimum of roughly 300k population as the requirement, the CFL could expand to 12 teams within Canada. 1 in southern Ontario (London or Windsor), 1 in Atlantic Canada (whoever gets a stadium first), and Quebec City.

1) BC Lions *

2) Saskatchewan Roughriders *

3) Hamilton Tiger-Cats *

4) Montreal Alouettes *

5) Toronto Argonauts

6) Edmonton Eskimos

7) Winnipeg Blue Bombers

8) Calgary Stampeders

9) Ottawa Regals

10) London Blizzard

11) Quebec Spartans

12) Halifax Schooners

---------------

12 Teams

4 Divisions

3 rounds of Playoffs

8 of 12 teams make Playoffs

---------------

1) vs. 8) 1) vs. 4) 1) vs. 2) *Grey Cup Champions*

2) vs. 7) 2) vs. 3)

3) vs. 6)

4) vs. 5)

What is the point of divisions if they get ranked 1 to 8?

I'm worried 12 teams would see the talent spread to thin and lead to a weaker product.

Add 2 teams at the most, at least in the near future.

BC

Calgary

Edmonton

Saskatchewan

Winnipeg

Toronto

Ottawa

Hamilton

Montreal

Halifax

1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in each division = 3 rounds of playoffs.

Play every team twice = 18 games.
