Bilbro Baggins
What determines the order of the draft? If there indeed is a lockout this year, where approximately would the Canucks be drafting? I guess that's two questions. Sorry, the title lied.
Zoolander
Each team gets between 1 and 3 balls depending on how many cups they've recently won, how many 1st overall picks they've had, and other factors like those ones. Basically it's random, and anyone has a chance to land in the top 5.

SukhKular
Really wish the whole lottery system was different. Wish it was like this... 1. Los Angeles Kings... 1st Place: 1 ball 2. New Jersey Devils... 2nd Place: 2 balls ... 29. Edmonton Oilers... 29th Place: 29 balls 30. Columbus Blue Jackets... 30th Place: 30 balls Finishing in the bottom 5 doesn't guarantee you a top 5 pick anymore.
