would you be alright going into next season with this lineup? i dont think luo will be traded until after the season starts and GMs realize there goalies wont cut it(lindback, reimer etc...) then we can get a return closer to what gillis is asking for.

-i have kassian on the top line because i think he is ready for top 6 min and the sedins need a guy like him to protect them. hes 22 hes not a kid anymore so he should be able to fight most guys in the NHL today.

-kesler is replaced by one of our prospects while he is out.

-higgins was a centerman before he came to the canucks so he could move back into the middle and make that 3rd line speedy checking and scoring.

Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Zack Kassian ($0.870m)

No...Doan needs to sign which will bump Raymond out of the line-up and into the press box. If Higgins has played centre (I'm skeptical about his abilities) than by all means put him at centre.

Both the defence and goaltending (obviously) look strong and I don't see many games this season turning into a "last shot wins" kinda' game.

Doan is a HUGE piece to the puzzle tho because it addresses so many issues our team has, the biggest one being a lack of secondary offence. I'd put Doan on the second line just to even out the scoring and have a line-up like this.

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian

Booth-Kesler-Doan

Burrows-Higgins-Hansen

Manny-Lapierre-Volpatti/Weise

Schroeder will have a chance to make the team while Kes is out. If he proves he can compete at the NHL level, I'd love to see this lineup.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

Booth-Kesler-Doan

Higgins-Schroeder-Kassian

Manny-Lapierre-Hansen

....defence is pretty straight-forward and once Luongo is traded, all I'm looking for in return is picks for this upcoming draft and a prospect or 2.

-i dont see doan signing with us. if he does, that will surprise me and id be ok with it but i dont know what .

-arnott could sign with us and that would leave our team as the deepest in the NHL. we wouldnt have a goon line but iinstead another checking line.

-to all the kassian haters you just need to give these guys a chance to break out. when coho joined the team the first year he wasnt good then, the following season he was great. so i think kass can follow the same thing. if he doesnt impress we have such a deep lineup that we can easily move guys around and we would still produce.

Sedins-Burr

Booth-Kesler-Higgins

Raymond-Arnott-Hansen

Malhottra-Lapierre-Kassian

Bieksa-Hamhuis

Edler-Garrison

Ballard-Tanev

Schneider

Luongo

Would be the most realistic lineup going into the season. Don't think Canucks will change much until the Deadline or get players for luongo

gillis wont resign raymond to put him in the press box.

everyone is so hard on mayray because he had an off year. look at this stat

10 David Booth FLA, VAN L 62 16 14 30 -5 34 3 0 1 0 159 10.1 14:55 20.7 50.0

12 Mason Raymond VAN L 55 10 10 20 +4 18 1 1 2 0 125 8.0 15:35 22.2 28.0

mayray had 10 less points in 7 less games while getting a +4 to booths -3. mayray had a 2.8mill cap hit? booth had a 4.25mill cap hit. i would be far more worried about booths performance than raymonds. and raymond came off a far more severe injury. even if you hate his play style he still gets points. i think he will have a bounce back year same with booth. just give him another chance because gillis has and we can either accept that he WILL be in the lineup and try to work with him or keep whining about him falling down
