to fla: luongo, raymond

to van: bjugstad, bergenheim, 2nd pick 2013

- fla gets their best franchise goalie of all time

- fla gets a adequate replacement for bergenheim (raymond has 1 year on his deal so fla can take the money at the end of the year if they want...kinda like what they wanted and got in the booth trade)

- van gets the player they are demanding but it costs them acquiring a 1st pick potentially

- van acquires a playoff phenom (12 goals, 5 assist in 23 games) hes a great dark horse on the fourth line and could really push higgins, booth or hansen for top 9 minutes

to nyi: ballard

to van: 3rd pick 2013

- nyi gets a nhl defenseman who can help move the puck, kill penalties and help them get to the cap floor

- canucks free up cap space, save ballards career and stop the media from asking them about ballards status with the coaching staff and management

If we're already having trouble getting Bjugstad in a Luongo deal, you can bet we aren't going to get Bergenheim and a 2nd from them just by adding in Raymond. I don't think they go for it.

The third pairing might be ok, but is it better than Ballard/Tanev? Sure, we get more cap space, but we aren't in such a bind we'd have to move Ballard for such a low return.

no and no

im not huge on bjugstad like almost everyone else and fla wouldnt do it

id rather keep ballard then sign hannan, eminger and acquire bergenheim and we would actually save cap that way

volpatti lapierre weise/pinizotto/kassian

juice hamhuis

edler garrison

ballard tanev

luongo schneider
