Mahomes is unreal.  He's so young, has tons of playoff experience already and has beaten Brady for a 'ship.  He's exciting to watch.

Brady started out more like a game manager with a solid defense and clutch kicker, whereas Mahomes came in like a ball buster in his first few seasons.

I'm curious to see how Mahomes continues from here.

Interesting to see all the excuses/complaints coming out of Dallas. The Cowboys (and Mike MCCarthy, in particular) feel that there should have been a review to see how much time was left on the clock after the center placed the ball after Prescott went for a run with time running out in the game....

Except that it's been a rule forever that the ball has to be spotted by an official and after the umpire did so, there was not enough time for Prescott to spike the ball.

Instead of blaming the officiating, the folks in Big D have two people that they should be hanging this on....

.....Dak, for running 17 yards before sliding, (the standard for that play is 10 yards, which would have left more time on the clock and allowed the Umpire to get to it more quickly) then handing the ball to his center, instead of the official.....

....and McCarthy, whose job it is to make sure Prescott does those two things correctly.

I was thinking about this too, and the more you think about it the worse it looks for McCarthy and Dak. Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers but that man can execute a 2 minute drill like no other. When you see him take off and use his legs to pick up some yards, he'll either get out of bounds or, if he can't get out, will slide earlier than he really needs to and the moment he's down you see him looking for an official to hand the ball off to. Dak just screwed the pooch on this one.

I just thought it was a terrible call all around.

In real time, Chip and I were kind of amazed how neither team looked like they wanted to win. For some reason, the Niners allowed several passes to the sideline, which was obviously where the Cowboys had to throw it.

Even though they were marching the ball successfully with the pass, they decided to get cute and go for the QB draw....a needlessly risky call, IMHO. That being said, if you're going to run that play, you have to know how far you can run before going into the slide and you have to know what to do with the ball afterward.

Funny enough, McCarthy’s reasoning for the QB Draw was that the Niners were taking away the sideline.

I thought it was a little ironic how Kellan Moore was mentioned as a rising star of the coaching ranks with a talent for offence, only for his team to lose on a pretty perplexing play call. Alliteration not intended.

Interesting you bring that up. Jesse Palmer, who was a former NFL QB who is Canadian and is now a college football analyst, thinks the Cowboys need to fire McCarthy in order to keep Kellan Moore in house as the new HC and prevent him from getting poached by another team.

Miss talking smack about your teams and the back and forth banter.

Ever since Brady left all those Patriots fans have gone real quiet..:P

Ahoy hoy! Hockey supplanted the NFL in my mind years ago, but I am still a fan of the Raiders, was great to see them in a playoff game again finally.

I have been in quarantine over at the fantasy hockey forums for a few years now, haha. I will make a point of popping in again though.

San Fran, Bills, Chiefs, Rams, Packers...feels like mid nineties playoffs deja vu. Bucks n Bengals though, nice. haha. Titans year? Dunno...part of me wants the Bengals to find glory, but that isn't likely.

Yep. I saw the interview.

I have to admit that I don't follow the Cowboys all that closely, (except to celebrate when they lose) but my impression has always been that they'll be a perennial bubble team with more talent than results, as long as Jerry Jones continues to meddle.

If they ever hire a competent GM and give him autonomy, they might be a threat.

"The Bachelor"

(he's on right now and is very hyped on Allen and the Bills and that they'll get the W on the road in KC)
