Glad I'm not playing fantasy this year. Too distracting with the constant injuries to RB's and receivers.

Guys who start and get hurt and end up going out of the game in the first half.

Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall are BOTH game time decisions for Sunday night, though I think one of them at the very least will play.

I would hate to have them in a pool, especially in one that has some real cheddar on the line and not just bragging rights.

My Sunday morning would consist of getting up early and shifting bricks all day long wondering if they will play or not.

I don't follow why people think the league is in such a wreck.

Most of this news has virtually nothing to do with actual football on the field.

This is what happens when the NFL tries to take on the responsibility of personal life nanny. Just leave it to the government to worry about punishing people for criminal behaviour, and worry about your product on the field FFS. I personally don't care if Rice or Peterson are/aren't on the field, someone will be.

The NFL exercised futility by trying to be babysitters for adults.

Clearly you're the ignorant one if you think this is 1) the job of the NFL to police all its players off the field, and 2) that controlling that many adults/celebrities is in the realm of reasonably possible.

The NFL is a football league.. football is not going to crap. This is what people who are too influenced by the media say. Congrats on making a big deal out of something that's a non issue.

If this is the kind of entertainment you enjoy giving so much attention to I'd suggest the WWE.

Don't let the NFL off the hook so easily.....here's the point you're missing. You're right -it's not the league's job to babysit players but any GOOD employer will intervene if players have substance abuse issues or are exhibiting violent behaviour and breaking the law. It's why there are EAP's. If they don't address it, it allows that behaviour to continue unchecked and it could lead to future problems. They're not doing their employee any favours by not addressing it - they owe it to them to do so in an overall wellness light.

The issue here for me is HOW the NFL handles (or fails to) incidents. They'd rather protect star players than effectively address situations that are completely unacceptable. Sweeping them under the rug like a dysfunctional family is nothing to support or make excuses for.

It's not about quantity - every single assault of a woman (or anyone for that matter) that is "outside the game" still warrants review by the league in a stance that says "we don't tolerate this" as part of their product. Hell, we hear the CFL sucks argument all the time but I love the messages the Lions have been sending through their Be More Than A Bystander program. Ignoring domestic violence is irresponsible by any employer.

To suggest the league should just leave this to someone else is missing the mark. Issues worthy of "Government punishment" indicate an employee likely isn't fit to work until they deal with those problems. Even football players. Actually, even moreso because their work environment involves getting fired up and being physical on the job...if they carry that home with them the league likely should be involved in making sure they keep it on the field.

Yea, I don't get what's so hard to grasp. If a player does something really stupid and idiotic, the league has to discipline the player. Can't let the player just carry on with the stuff he's doing. It starts from there and enters the locker room, damages the image of the team, league if they don't take action, and then the media will do their thing.

I like it. Makes the games more interesting to watch.

I also set my line up once and don't second guess myself unless an injury occurs at once so I'm not one of those guys who's scrambling right up until 10am moving players around.

Trying to decide whether to place a last minute bet or not. Got 5 minutes to decide.

NE to win outright, Packers to win outright, Lions to lose by less than 3 or win the game $20 pays $55 plus 20 back.

Placed it.

With Greg Hardy out, Suh and Fairley extra motivated on the D line and Newton having little chemistry with new receivers, I hope it pays off..
