The ref wasn't told the night before. He had a discussion with someone from the league office just prior to the game that the Colts had concerns about the Pats footballs. The ref said he would do his usual checks before the game. All of the balls were 12.5 prior to the game (2 had to be inflated). There's really no point in writing down 12.5 over & over. It's the lower limit of the range and easy to remember.

The Colts measured the intercepted ball on the sidelines and it was underinflated, so that's when their GM told the league officials to ask the refs to check the rest of the balls.

AHA! So they took a ball to the sidelines, let some air out, then told the officials that a Patriots ball was under inflated?

Brilliant! Thanks for solving the mystery.

I knew it had to be the Colts all along.

I think the silence from Brady is deafening. If someone was accusing me of doing something that I didn't I'd be speaking up calling bs.

Brady knew, they did it. Own it and move tf on.

No. There's something called a legal team and why he'll publicly get the league with them. Him just whining in public would look stupid on his part and not have any impact. Having a legal team makes him look intelligent and actually makes a big impact.

Sorry Pats fans he did it, accept it and move on.

Perfect logic m8. Hopefully this is how the league defense will be :P

Like I said earlier - I think he did know - but it wasn't him - he's protecting someone.

The denial is strong, matches the arrogance.

Again I agree that the 4 game suspension was harsh and will be brought down to 1 or 2 games. Again the Pats shot themselves in the foot acting like entitled jackasses that is why the league came down hard.

Repeat offenders, not co-operating with the league, and Kraft puffing out his chest despite the evidence against. Obviously the league will come down hard

I get defending your team but they got caught, own it. Its more misdemeanour than felony but they were caught again.

Yeah, and then they phoned up The Flash so that he could deflate the 10 other Patriot footballs.

Pay attention Claire.

The others were deflated by the refs testing them so much at half time.

Nobody is discussing the important thing! That attendant was skilled enough to take that many footballs out of the bag and deflate them in 60 seconds, then put them back in the bag, in a small bathroom no less. Kudos to him. The other locker room dude that was in on it should have given him more than some friggin' sneakers and a few signed Brady items. Now they're both suspended by the league indefinitely. Since they are easily replaceable, they will never be hired by another team or taken back by the Pats.

I've only skimmed the last couple of pages, so has anybody started the A.J. Feeley talking about Brady's past football doctoring yet? If not, then what are you waiting for?!

Don't be lazy! Begin arguing and insulting Feeley!

I thought he was a Jets fan?

Nope, Seahawks.

Brady knew, they did it. Own it and move tf on.

He's appealing and has put together his team with the NFLPA and Jeffrey Kessler. It wouldn't be smart to hold a press conference because 1 of 2 things would happen. He says something like "Sorry guys, I like my balls to be at the lowest at 12.5, I apologize if sometimes the balls were ever dropped below that, it wasn't intentional to provide an advantage for me." At which point, it hurts his appeal. Or he comes out and says something like "I didn't do it, I didn't direct anyone to do it, and after the appeal is over, you'll see that the truth will come out." And then when the appeal knocks it down to 1 or 2 games, people will attack him with well if you didn't know why did you still get suspended?

Lol, Feely is a joke. Crying about how he saw Tom using his own balls in a game and when he asked his own coaches, they just laughed at him and told him off.

The Patriots lawyers just ripped apart the report. (Not Brady's lawyers, these are the teams lawyers. Jeffrey Kessler is probably still working on his torture Goodell plan)

One of the many, many holes found is that Ted Wells, like Mak, cherry picked certain parts of the text messages between McNally and Jamstreski to create a fake context to what they were talking about.

For example, Jamstreski is trying to bulk up to 200 lbs, and McNally is trying to lose weight (facts identified from their text message conversations). After looking through their chat history it's found that McNally often referred to losing weight as "deflating" and there were several messages throughout the chat history that showed this. Furthermore, Ted Wells didn't even ask either of them what the context of their message was and why they said certain things like the term deflator.

I'm not surprised that the guy who argued second hand smoke doesn't cause cancer can't even do a proper and thorough investigation.

Too bad the appeal isn't going to be for a while, and then the court date should it last that long.

Heretic, TRR, if you have the time, enjoy this: http://wellsreportcontext.com/

^saw that last night just before I called it a night. But don't show Mak that. He'll think it's fake just like the IGL lol.

Edit: check this out lol

Patriots say NFL ignored science in Wells report http://t.co/2mx93L4Syj

...it might really be Mak defending the league after all

Wonder if they trade him this summer.

There’s been talk for weeks that Seahawks pass rusher Bruce Irvin could end up in Atlanta. Irvin is doing nothing to silence that talk.

Irvin, who is from Atlanta, was quoted by Black Sports Online as saying that he wants to go to the Falcons after 2015, which is the final year on his rookie contract with the Seahawks.

“I’m going to be in Atlanta next season. I’m ready,” Irvin said. “Atlanta is where I want to be. Believe that.”

Irvin has previously been quiet about the reports that he could end up in Atlanta, but he was at last night’s Atlanta Hawks game and re-tweeted a tweet from the Black Sports Online writer he spoke with, so he’s not exactly hiding his interest in the Falcons. New Falcons coach Dan Quinn was the Seahawks’ defensive coordinator the last two years and has a good relationship with Irvin.

The Seahawks declined to pick up the fifth-year option on Irvin’s contract, so he’s slated to become a free agent in 10 months. If there’s mutual interest between the Falcons and Irvin, it might make sense for the Seahawks and Falcons to work out a trade. Even if, for now, the Seahawks are insisting that they expect Irvin to stay in Seattle.
