CFL/BC Lions Thread

Shift-4

Technically PI but a bit of a soft call. I'll take it though.

It was, but with the new "no contact past 5 yards" rule, we see soft calls virtually every game. The league wanted to boost offense and they're getting the desired result. (Now if we can just quit throwing the hanky on every kick return)

Suitor, being a former Rider and DB, didn't agree with the call, but by the book, it was a penalty.

Glad to see McCallum can still hit the long ones. Leone is still winning the battle.

PM is still accurate, but 50 is definitely his limit. Leone has a lot more leg and it's paying dividends on the punting game, just as it did last game against the Riders on that tying field goal.

I think a ton of people including Wally Buono under estimates Pauly's leg. It was only a couple years ago when he nailed a 53 yarder to win the game. Pauly himself says his range is still 54 yards. In a pressure situation, I still take him and it was dumb for the Riders not to use him on the onside kick. It was the right decision for the Lions to move on though as Leone can hit long field goals and also boom some monster punts. Pauly's punting game was limited to directional punting the last few years, but had no distance.

Also your punter with one of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen last night. And he was celebrating after that horse caller and still celebrating after seeing Jackson hurt. Should have been an ejection in my opinion.

I wasn't a fan of Leone's show boating after the horse collar as well. I understand with the speed of the game and sometimes your hand just happens to be there when you make a tackle. Jackson was clearly hurt and Leone had no reason to do his little fist pump.
