Wally offered him a contract during the season that would have made him the highest paid running back going forward.  He didn't accept it. Good riddance as far as I see it.  Harris lost interest in being a Lion a while back.  We don't need that attitude going forward.

I don't blame Harris for not accepting the contract offer during that was offered during the season. He didn't feel respected by Lions and was treated badly by them. You could certainly tell that in his season ending comments. There goes heart and soul of team.

Lions Facebook is quite the joke too removing posts and booting people not happy with the state of team, Harris leaving, Wally.

Thing is, RBs in the CFL are ageless. Look at Jerome Messam. He is 30 which is old for a RB and he was very effective for the Stamps. Harris can easily be replaced.

Harris was not treated badly by the team.  He acted like a spoiled child though a few times.  Don't need that kind of attitude in the locker room. As for the Liond FB page, a joke?  Guess you didn't see the comments of people threatening harm to Wally and his family?  They had to take a stand, so be it.

As Ron said, Harris is easily replaceable.

Former Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure becomes current B.C. Lions running back

February 5, 2016. 12:39 pm • Section: Football, Sports

As an off-shoot of trying to rebuild the B.C. Lions running game, general manager and coach Wally Buono may have also Province scribe Howard Tsumura battling for extra time on the CFL beat.

Buono, who will apparently let Canadian 1,000-yard rusher Andrew Harris enter free agency, announced Friday that his club had signed former Detroit Lion running back Mikel Leshoure, as well as North Dakota State product Sam Ojuri.

The world’s biggest Detroit Lions fan? It might be Mr. Tsumura, the noted high school and university writer who joined our platoon of writers on the Lions beat last year when the venerable Lowell Ullrich opted for retirement midway through campaign.

Here’s a story from last March about how Leshoure went to the NFL veterans combine. And here’s a story from July, 2014 about how the Lions expected Leshoure to have a bigger role with the team.

And may we present some video evidence of Leshoure’s talents? We shall.

Looks a little like Marshon Lynch with his running style...what happened that he fell out with Detroit?

Is Rainey going to be back ..if so .they look like they would compliment each other...one is a break away back and the other is a straight ahead slasher.

More competition for Andrew's spot:

Dave Campbell ‏@Dave_CHED

Looks like RB John White will indeed sign with the B.C. Lions. #Eskimos #CFL\

2014 allstar but missed the entire 2015 season with a ruptured Achilles. Should be interesting to see what he brings to camp.

EDIT: Farhan has put this one on hold for now:
Reports that RB John White has signed with #BCLions are false. They haven't made him an offer. Have offered RB Jeremiah Johnson though. #CFL

I am so happy - the Bombers finally have a decent kicker!

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed the CFL’s all-time most accurate field goal kicker (87.5% all-time) Justin Medlock. Medlock was the league’s leading scorer last season, his third season in Hamilton, with 181 points. He set a career-high at 89.4% on his field goal attempts in 2015 (42 of 47), and has now moved into top spot in CFL history in career field goal percentage, connecting on 182 of 208 attempts. He made 94.2% of his converts in 2015 (the fewest misses of any kicker with 25+ attempts from the new 32-yard range), along with 28 of 29 field goals from inside 40 yards. He was named a division all-star for his work in 2015. Medlock also kicked the longest field goal of last season from 57 yards out. "

Glad to see Wally already has some options in place to replace Harris saving money for other positions.

JC Sherrit any one?

Well considering we just lost Alex Hoffman-Ellis to Hamilton I could see them making a play for JC.
