BC Lions trade rights of Oregon State QB Vernon Adams to Montreal for 2017 1st round pick

I like this trade, Als are expected to finish near bottom of league so that pick could potentially be a 1st overall, also With Jennings, Lulay and Price, there was no room here at QB, genius move by Wally!

Was talking to a couple different people about the trade.  The both say that Adams has the tools to be stud in the CFL. Could have been a solid #3.  Lets face it.  Lulay's days are numbered before he retires or goes to coaching.

Anyone else going to Fanfest in Kamlops on the 4th?

One more shameless plug to let everyone know that single game tickets have officially gone on sale this morning.

if anyone from the forum needs any tickets shoot me a PM as I'd be happy to help CDCers out with my friends and family discount.

Additionally, TELUS has partnered with us to give $5 tickets to anyone 12 and under to the home opener.

Should carry that over for more games.  First preseason looks well sold.  Likely has to do with all the free tickets they've thrown at season ticket holders.  Home opener looks to have a tonne of tickets up for grabs. I read in an email that season ticket sales were very strong.  Looking at the tickets available, that was obviously bull$&!#, LOL!

Better put a good team on the field or we'll see crowds of 15,000 or less very soon... if lucky.

Classy move by the Lions.  Was there in person, it was great to see.

Must See: 7 year-old cancer survivor scores TD for Lions

The Lions made 7 year-old cancer survivor Lizzie Harbaruk their honorary captain for Saturday's scrimmage. After putting her in football gear, they brought her into the offence, gave her a hand-off and she scored a touchdown to finish off the scrimmage.

Anyone remember Lions used to have 2nd mascot by name of Stray Cat. Does anyone know why they got rid of him? I read on lions forum where someone said Lions got rid of him, because he scared kids. Contacted Lions and the person who got back to me always thought Leo was the only mascot. They apparently have no pics of him in their archives. Nothing on Lions website or anywhere about Stray Cat ever existing. LOL

Was that during the days when they had the logger guy run up the post after a TD?  They got really desperate back then.  He was likely put down.

I wonder if this is the year the Lions finally have a healthy o-line so that they can have a consistent run game. They have not had a good run game in a few years now. Even with Harris when he was here, he would have a couple decent games and then he would totally go silent for a month sometimes and average well below 5 yards a carry.

Speaking of Harris since he was here the last 4 years the Lions have not had to worry about finding a #1 RB. Who is that guy this year will be a big story if it remains a question into the first half of the season.

Defence looks potentially good. But defence is really rarely an issue with the Lions in the first place.

The secondary and linebackers both look excellent on paper if healthy good mix of veterans and young guys.

Big question is the d-line if they can generate pressure on the qb with 4 without having to blitz so it doesn't create big running lanes for the opposition which was a problem all last year.

At least Bazzie is slated to play more than he did last year.

I could never figure out why they would make their best pass rusher a back up. Who cares if he is undersized and can't set the edge and play the run?

They need guys to rush. Also Craig Roh aka "Death Row" lol from last year was forced to play the 3 technique and rush the passer from DT instead of his natural defensive end spot where he could use his quickness to get around tackles.

Instead all last year Tedford played him at D tackle and he constantly got beat up because he was undersized and got blown back off the ball and gave up huge runs because he got beat up constantly by opposing guards with girth.
