Gurn
So Lulay gets the start, goes 1 for 1, then doesn't play a single down. Jennings has to come in to finish the game. plays very well except for 2 very badly timed interceptions. Lions would have won this, if they had one less D lineman go down due to injury. Heck of a game.
chon derry
jennings should have taken the tackle , instead of throwing it . oh well good to see that their competing ,all well being a little banged up , on enemy soil to boot!

I remember watching Lui in a game several years ago: He started the punting motion but just delayed a second. The guys rushing saw him start the kicking motion and turned around to set up the return. Lui basically just ran forward behind them and easily picked up the first down. Over the years, I've seen many opportunities for Lions' punters to do the same thing, but none of them have the guts to try. Lui was in his own class.... The catch he went for over the middle, knowing he was going to get submarined, showed a lot of guts. But he just doesn't have the natural ability of Manny. Not many do.

RUPERTKBD
Soooo....a win is a win I suppose.... Firstly, the Leos were absolutely hosed on special teams by the zebras last night. The illegal block call on Rainey's punt return TD was weak sauce. However, there were two non-calls that were absolutely horrendous. First Ianuzzi was pulled down at the sidelines by an obvious Horse collar. No call. The extra 15 yards would have put them close to field goal range even before the drive started. But the absolute worst was the missed "No Yards" call on the drive that led to the Banks return TD. It was obvious that there was a Ti-Cat player three yards from the BC returner when he caught the ball. There should have been 15 yards tacked on to that return. This was important, because it would have turned the resulting field goal attempt from one of over 30 yards, to a chip shot. (That's assuming that the Lions didn't score a TD on the drive) Leone hasn't missed a PAT this season, which is essentially what that last field goal attempt would have been had the no yards call been made. The Banks return would never have happened. But enough about the zebras. In many ways, the offensive scheme almost led to BC's demise. For some reason, they became afraid to fail. The second and long call on the drive that led to the missed FG, was the football equivalent of waving the white flag. Needing 10 yards, you throw it two and hope the receiver can make a bunch of guys miss? That's not playing to win, it's playing not to lose and very nearly had the opposite effect. Next time the Lions have a late lead, I hope the coaching staff remember how they got that lead in the first place.

Those two calls should and would have been a bigger difference than the score would indicate. That should not happen in a professional sport, missed calls like that, especially when you have one official alone watching the punt and the returner. In other news, a win is a win, ugly or not. Jennings is an amazing talent, and how much longer does he have in the CFL?
Hairy Kneel
The no yards call was just a lazy miss by the refs who couldn't keep up with the play. And I agree on the wrong call on the block in the back--good thing we scored after that wrong call. I like our young QB but think he should be learning from these late interceptions. not to force things when there not there esp protecting a lead.
