Nice win by the Lions! Loved the game plan and how they stuck to the run.

I listened to the game on the radio sitting by the beach.  Was a lovely experience.

YEA LEOS!

(Sounded like the one PI call was pretty bad though...cost a field goal and Ottawa got within 3 points as a result.  I thought "oh no, here we go again" with bad officiating and that the refs might have a negative impact on the outcome, but we scored not long afterward so it was all good).

I was watching the women’s hockey, while listening to the Lion’s.  Lion’s D was really good.

I'm a bit surprised that Reilly was out there for that last set of downs. They had a 10 point lead, with good field position.

Raining like it was, traction stunk, guys slipping all over the place; not a good idea to have your starting q.b. out there.

over all good win, and that new number 1 over all draft pick looks like a real keeper.

Didn't have much choice with the weather. Think Reilly prefers to air it out.

Still think they are making a mistake not letting Whitehead get involved in the punt or kick return game periodically.

Rainey hasn't been able to get loose minus one return on the opening kickoff against Edmonton.

BC special teams and the lack of a true threat at RB is holding this offence back.

Could use another speed guy to complement Whitehead and Burnham.

Dom Rhymes has been a waste of a starting American WR spot as well.

I get they want continuity and veterans and don't have much options to upgrade but if they want to not be 1 and done in the playoffs they need another difference maker.

They need another guy at RB, WR, or KR/PR who can create short fields so the offence can have quick drives and  more tds instead of settling for field goals and relying on the d to carry them and keep them in the games.

It's a short season so they have to figure it out sooner than later. The offence should be averaging over 20 points a game easily with the talent at their disposal.

With COVID doubt there as many NFL cuts willing to come up North than maybe in years past.

There are more options now for alternative leagues in the US so Canada is a last stop.

Agreed

Seems the Lions are holding onto yesterday's man.

Haven't had a good RB since Harris, 5 years ago

Would be nice

Dom Rhymes has been a waste of a starting American WR spot as well.

He had a decent year with Ottawa last season, but is not getting as many targets or receptions. Whether that is him, not getting free enough, his plays not getting called enough, or Reilly deciding, in play, to throw elsewhere, I don't know?

I get they want continuity and veterans and don't have much options to upgrade but if they want to not be 1 and done in the playoffs they need another difference maker.

1 more gamebreaker is mandatory, 2 or 3 more would be great.

The problem is where is American talent coming from?

Could they perhaps swing a trade for a veteran American receiver like Brandon Banks who is wasting away in Hamilton on that $&!#e team?

Maybe it's a trade for Devante Dedmon on Ottawa who is a return threat? Maybe send back Rhymes the other way?

Unless there is a guy out there willing to come up North???

You mentioned Harris think he definitely took some performance enhancers he was never as good with BC as he is now at his advanced where RBs typically are struggling to stay as backups on rosters and are not supposed to be getting better with age and looking bigger and faster and stronger each season once past 30.

Used to have a pipeline from down south, guess it dried up as Wally, and his sources, faded out of the game

Maybe, but he does get  a bit more carries as a  Bomber than as a Lion.

Elks released a player for breaking covid protocol, good riddance

I can’t believe how lax the CFL has been with their Covid rules so far, so this is nice to see. The league is surviving on the edge of a knife and their threshold for vaccination is 85%? Just mind-boggling! Specially after seeing the vaccination rates for other leagues that @Vintage Canuck posted this morning.
